one thing ive always found Weird about this fandom is that like, based entirely on oceans couple of mean lines referring to talya as imaginary, it's generally seen as being canonically Ambiguous or Open To Interpretation whether talya exists at all. despite the fact that he's video called her and has photos of her and also online dating isnt that uncommon. i dont even think this is purely a "noncanon shippers grasping at straws to get the canon pairing out of the way so their preferred ship can work" thing because ive seen some very serious character analyses based entirely on giving the "maybe talya doesnt exist" theory way more credit than it deserves. i honestly always thought the intended subtext of ocean calling talya misha's "imaginary girlfriend" was less "maybe talya doesnt exist, maybe she does, who knows?" and more "ocean belittles and dismisses everything that is important to misha because she doesnt like him". like you guys give this unreliable narrator waaaaay too much credit all the time
