Once you get this, you have to say five things you like about yourself, publicly. Then you have to send this to ten of your favourite followers (non-negotiable, positivity is cool~)
GAh - I always find these things so hard to think of things. Hence why it took me hours after getting this ask to answer it. Um, I suppose 5 things I like about myself are that I’m a kind person - I don’t go out of my way to upset people. I’m the type of person if I know one of my friends loves something that I dislike I try to keep that to myself so not to annoy/upset them. I love my cats and would literally die for them. Even though my stuff might suck I like that I am creative in the sense that I like to make gifs, fanvideos, fanfics etc I like the fact I put so much work into my fansites (especially my one for shane west) because I’ve had so many issues over the years and it costs so much money there are times I know I should have gave up but I didn’t. Not really about me I guess but I am so proud of my dvd/boxset collection but one day I really need to get caught up on my shows and films I’ve bought and not watched yet. I suck in that way too lol
Not to be that person but the feeling you described in your tags, I've been feeling that on and off since I was 14. If need someone to talk to, please feel free to message me any time <3
thank you so much! in all honesty, I find it hard to open up to people but it warms my heart that someone out there might actually care. so thank you for this message, it truly means a lot. sending you the warmest hugs 💕
TOP 3 Harry Potter characters
I confess I was never a huge Harry Potter fan so no one @ me, but off the cuff:
Minerva McGonagall
Hagrid
Ron Weasley
✨ask me my top 3 anything! ✨
TOP 3 TRIOS (see what I did there, I'm hilarious) as in friendships/dynamics/musical/whatever you like
Hahahah nicely played. And a great question!
Okay right out the gate it’s gotta be Hardison/Parker/Eliot from Leverage. Can’t be beat.
Then I say Dutch/Johnny/D’avin from Killjoys! We love space bounty hunters!
Annnnnd the original Charmed sisters.
Man, character trios is really such a good dynamic. We should do it more.
✨ask me my top 3 anything! ✨
love bug, honey, cutie aaaand bubba
Marie!! 😍
For the nickname asks:
love bug: what song would you love to have sung to you?Mmm I mean I’m so delighted by the concept of someone singing to me - whether as a joke OR as a grand gesture of some kind, it truly doesn’t matter what the song would be. But I was also raised on the super prototypical American Classic Music™ genres, so I admit to loving the 40s crooners and 70s ballads especially. In my brain they’re just peak cinematic.
honey: what’s your favourite hot drink? This is where I insert the gif of Kenneth from 30 Rock saying ‘that’s the devil’s temperature’ because same? I’m all about the iced coffee and diet coke. I am actually realizing as I type this how truly infrequently I drink hot things. But I do like peppermint tea before bed sometimes.
cutie: what’s your favourite fairytale?Escapism is the main thing I care about when it comes to consuming fiction, so I love anything where someone is transported to a totally different world or realm, especially if it turns out that place is Where They Always Belonged, or something thematically similar.
bubba: tell me a funny story from your childhood.LMAO ok I’ve got one. We got a puppy when I was like 9 years old, and my mom wanted to train him to only do his business in this one particular part of the backyard, so that the mess would be contained back there, and not all over the place like land mines. She researched it and found out that if YOU pee where you want the dog to go, he’ll smell it and be like ‘oh okay this is where we do that’ and just naturally keeping going to that same spot. So, she immediately went out and squatted in the yard and peed right where she wanted him to go. TURNS OUT! it would have worked if literally anyone else had done it, but because my mom was the ‘alpha’ of the house, what she’d actually done was ‘mark her territory’, and the dog never even SET FOOT in that part of the yard for literally the rest of his life.
FILM ASKS: 4, 5, 16, 20, 26, 32 & 36
🌸🌸Marie! I truly adore you!
I’m repurposing a few of these answers from a previous ask but HERE WE GO:
>> For the Film Asks:
4. Name a film cliche you hate?Oh man, there are a hundred things I could say, but I am such a complete sucker for super cheesy dramatic romance onscreen — especially the tropes where lovers who have been separated are reunited, or one of them is falling over themselves to help/defend the other, who’s been hurt or upset in some way, etc. SO by extension, I fucking hate it when a story sets itself up for that and doesn’t do it. Like something happens to one of the lovers, but we don’t get to see the other react to it in real time, or even at all. I want to see characters WEEPING IN EACH OTHER’S ARMS over the PROFUNDITY OF THEIR FEELINGS FOR EACH OTHER. Don’t bill yourself as a romantic drama and NOT GIVE THAT TO ME.
(I guess the lack of a trope you like isn’t really the same thing as a “film cliche you hate” but I’m rolling with it).
5. Name a film cliche you love?Dramatically Reunited Lovers™ (see above, lol).
16. Five films you’d choose to have if you were stuck on a desert island?Ok, so these are not necessarily good films or even my favorite films, but they’re some of the ones I am down to watch over and over:
Mr. Right
Nerve
Singin’ in the Rain
Dakota Skye
Need for Speed
26. If they remade any film today, what film would you choose?I LOVE car movies. There was an entire era of them in the ‘60s and ‘70s, and I think it could be pretty cool to start remaking some of those. Or at least get back to that style of film.
32. What’s your favorite period piece?Honestly, I’m not that big on period pieces? IMHO every period piece looks largely the same as the next one that takes place in that same era, even when the genre and tone are wildly different. And the stories usually rely on boring quasi-political undertones and the same stereotypical period markers, which generally aren’t super historically accurate anyway. I almost always feel like they’re expecting the pastiche of the period-ness to do half the work, so I’m meh a lot of the time.
BUT I do tend to love anything that could be described as “swashbuckling”, so your Pirates of the Caribbean and your Three Musketeers type of shit I can get down with. I can also dig some nice, pastoral fantasy, so some of the Jane Austen stuff is fun— although she wrote her stuff in that actual era, so maybe it doesn’t count, but you KNOW I am all in on Pride and Prejudice (2005).
36. Is there a film that made you view the world in a different way? This is devastating because I can’t really call to mind some lighting-strike moment I had with a particular film, although I know there have been so many. But I’m truly so easily impressed and taken in by any halfway good story. My personality is probably always at least 20% the last movie I saw.
star fruit, apricot, tangelo, grape, raspberry & strawberry <3
Marie!! Thank you for humoring me, you’re a goddess among us lol.
star fruit: favorite sea creature?I mean how could I truly choose between my reverse outer space children, but I think I’d have to say the octopus because they are smarter than us and when the sea levels rise and we become extinct it’ll be just them, ruling over the jellyfish. Also shoutout to my buddies the scuba beetles. Those guys are p cool.
apricot: what do you do when you’re sad?I’m big on dancing it out alone in my bedroom or burying myself in a book, movie, or tv show where there’s a world that isn’t mine.
tangelo: if you could be any mythical creature, which would you be?Oh, a witch for sure. In the modern cinematic sense of literally snapping your fingers to light a candle, twitching your nose to turn on the radio, or reading a rhyming couplet to create thunder on command.
grape: if you could take a vacation anywhere in the world, where would you go?I keep saying I’m gonna travel the US more because it’s super accessible and I fucking live here, but I still haven’t actually seen that much of it because spoiler alert it’s fucking huge. There’s a list in my phone of all these random places I want to see, and I have this dream that I’m gonna adopt a big dog, get in my Jeep and spend a month or two on the road going from one to the other. It’s patently ridiculous, because if I somehow suddenly had weeks and weeks to spend dicking around somewhere, it should definitely be abroad - and I actually really hate driving. Even if I did it, I have no doubt it would be way more boring and a way bigger pain in the ass than I could imagine, but it’s a fun aesthetic fantasy anyway.
raspberry: favorite flower?Oh this is easy it’s sunflowers. Truly a perfect creation of this earth. good work everyone.
strawberry: favorite desserts?Fun fact about me, I don’t really have that much of a sweet tooth. I pick savory over sweet pretty much anytime, but I also believe one of life’s greatest small pleasures is walking down the street eating mint chocolate chip ice cream on a cone.
