A little clarification on Mission 2: Missing Partner prompt

Can a Conjuror or Shaman kill a Syke w/out their partner: 

Yes! Your Conjuror and Shaman must be there to defeat a Possessed [Syke in human/giant body mutant], but for a Syke either a Conjuror or Shaman can take care of it by themselves.  It's just more challenging. Think of a Syke as something with no shell/armor [a human/giant]. Not to say that ALL Sykes are completely weak, there are some very deadly [rare] Sykes out there without having to possess a being [which you just may encounter in a later prompt *wink wink*].

How exactly are our OCs supposed to find their missing partner:

Clues that require them to practice their tracking skills will be in the forests [i.e. scratches on trees, a personal item, broken branches, hairs, pieces of clothing, footprints, etc.] Also, a Conjuror and Shaman pair should be able "sense" one another. The bond will grow stronger as they progress in level, but even as a Freshmen they should be able to have a sense of at least the direction their partner is in and also when they're getting closer to them, since they're connected.

Mission 2: Missing Partner

The new students, again, find themselves outside facing the makeshift "stage" of earth. This time, though, they are staring at two new unfamiliar faces. An older female human and a male giant. A Shaman and Conjuror pair. All the Heads of House stand behind the older pair on the stage, respectfully quiet. Soon enough the audience gets the hint and also quiet down.

Roza: A pair of kind old eyes gaze warmly at the young new members. "Hello dears." She greets them, smiling. "I'm Roza." She turns and gestures to the older male Conjuror beside her. "This here is Sani, my partner." The students look a bit confused and she smiles wider. "You didn't expect these young ones to be running the entire show, right?" She laughs, talking about the Heads of House behind her.

Sani: He snorts. Arms still crossed. Face still has no expression. He bores a hole into the audience with his intense blank stare. "We're the Headmasters here." The audience murmurs. "We've been at this game for a long time. Far before X's attack on Labeo. You'll be seeing us from time to time. We mainly work behind the scenes, keeping in contact with other Societies and survivors we can find. Today, we're here to announce your new mission." He uncrosses his arms and places them behind his back, looking down to Roza.

Roza: Her permanent warm smile deceives the mission she is about to announce. "Tomorrow morning, one person from each pair will wake up to find his or her Conjuror or Shaman partner missing." She seems excited to relay the message, the crowd not so excited to hear it.

Sani: He doesn't like the agitated aura he feels from the crowd. "This is a big school, and an even bigger world, with even greater threats." He scowls. "This scenario is not all that unlikely, so listen up."

Roza: She pats Sani's leg to "shush" him. "As I said, one of you will be missing tomorrow. It's up to you to pair up with another Freshmen to find your partners. Your partner can even be from a different House! It's important to familiarize yourself with each House anyways, and make as many allies as you can." Her eyes crinkle happily at the thought. "You never know what kind of tough spot you may be in, and find yourself without a partner."

Sani: He lifts his arms, motioning to the forests around them. "Your partner will be hidden in these forests somewhere." His arms come back down. "Though you're on school grounds, and a Syke or Possessed attack is highly unlikely, it CAN happen. So STAY. ALERT." He nods his head back to the Heads of House behind him. "Your House leaders will be nearby, just in case things get out of hand. Work together and you'll both find your partner. This should help build morale between students and Houses." He nods. "Dismissed."
