Up Through The Atmosphere - Lysi & Micaiah Mission Board
@frauleindermorgen Lysithea stared up towards the top of the mountain in front of her, squinting, trying to make anything out of the brightness, trying not to feel intimidated by the sheer size of her journey. This was supposed to be the range the black pegasi had taken residence in, that she had tripled-checked, but she could hardly see anything up there- the sun was right in her eyes. If those vague silhouettes and Monastery rumors were tricks, this trip would've been worthless. When she eavesdropped on a few students discussing the sightings, she'd initially brushed them off as foolish tales made up by desperate students. Even if she was desperate, no cheap trick could match Lysithea's success rate with just studying alone. Yet, unlike the many stories of brain-boosting fish or books that taught you while you slept, this story went from barely credible to almost certain, rumor by rumor. The feathers of a black pegasi were known to have unique magical properties, and wasn't it just a few scant years ago that a similarly dark flock had been spotted on the other end of the Oghma mountain range? It was just enough to convince Lysithea to set aside a day to check it out. It also seemed to be just enough to convince someone else, a Black Eagle she did not know, to also go the same route. Lysithea, for her part, did not speak up as the pair walked. She pretended to not notice her, instead keeping her rapt attention fixed on a map of the mountain range. She was charting out all potential locations of the pegasi, and how she would most efficiently hit them all. Before she could finish writing down her route, though, she reached the base of the mountain, the stranger right beside her. The silence was deafening. Her feet froze in place. Something had to be said. "...hrmph. Following me?" Stuffing her map in her pocket, Lysithea turned to the fellow traveler, a square grimace fixed on her face. "I hope you're at least somewhat capable of handling yourself. The trail is over four miles of rock- and it's almost all uphill."
