Jess on creative process:
The thing about being an artist, or someone who makes things for a living, is that there's this constant potential cloud of unknown. Creativity can be mysterious because inspiration doesn't always come on demand. At some point, I realized that the creative process is really all within the journey, whatever that may be. Creativity is about collecting interesting ideas, curiosities, experiences. It's about seeing new things, venturing beyond your comfort zone, and storing those new experiences in memory. Curiosity is the link between all these new things. Amanda Palmer once spoke about going out into the world to collect dots. Sometimes all those dots don't really make much sense, but one day you'll draw a line between a few of your discoveries and something new and magnificent will be born.
