BLACK LAGOON - s01e11
Three commissions finished for @blackcur-rants!
(Three ladies at the bottom are genderbent versions of Charles Darnay, Sydney Carton, and Lucie Manette (Catherine Darnay, Sylvia Carton, and Lucine Manette) from A Tale of Two Cities)
I've had the stupidest idea for a fic: Balalaika and Chang have a lavender wedding. Not the usual kind, though. The whole thing is one giant money laundering scheme, as everything, down to the dress and suit tailors, the decorators, the caterers, the photographers, belong to shell companies owned by either one of them, or a business they took over specifically for this occasion. How exactly doesn't matter, they just both happen upon huge sums of money each that needs to be cleaned ASAP, plus there might be some tax stuff that gives them an incentive to get fake-married in particular. It can also double as a gesture of goodwill and peace between the triad and Hotel Moscow.
It would end with the ceremony (held in the Rip-Off Church, of course) being interrupted by a scorned ex-lover of Chang, Carrie Fisher in the Blues Brothers style, who has no idea the whole thing is a sham, unlike everyone else in attendance. She tries to kill him, they have a dramatic argument, he begs her to forgive her, then they kiss, right in front of Balalaika, and leave together. She turns to the officiant and asks if it still counts if he didn't kiss her but did sign all the documents, because she'd definitely kill him if all this was for nothing.
The reception afterwards is kinda awkward with the groom missing, so someone else has to fill in for the first dance with Balalaika (probably Revy), but at least the food is pretty good and there's an open bar.
Chapter 113
What I hate most in the world is hypocrisy. That is more evil than an evil deed itself. It's a poison that deceives not only others but also the self. It may smell like a rose but you can't hide the fact that shit is still shit.
Mister Chang
Revy & Mister Chang.
I’ve been waiting for a while now. Doesn’t this shop even offer a cup of coffee?
