TikTok Marketing: Predictions for 2020.
TikTok was one of the most popular apps of 2018, with a total of one billion downloads worldwide. Videos that were created on TikTok earn 17 billion average views on a monthly basis. TikTok was a highly engaged, heavily subscribed, and aggressively growing social media platform—a new-age network that provided brands and marketers new platform.
TikTok was the game changer in the social media by offering enducative and entertainment videos in micro doses which was used for marketing and branding even. Like the Facebook and Instagram, TikTok became the sweetheart of the Digital Marketing Industry also. This Chinese app has been the new darling to all the marketers and the main reason behind that was due to the access it gives brands to creators and consumers of middle India.
This was how it became the new sensation among brands and creators but now the story is changing due the controversy of YouTube vs TikTok that has led the app the major hit on its ratings on both playstore and appstore.
If we see on the other side of this an app termed “Mitron” has been introduced. The app has the similar features as that of TikTok and uptil now has gained 5M+ downloads and has a star rating of 4.7.
India has now made its own video sharing platform amidst #BanTikToK in India and it would be interesting to see whether TikTok will remain the sensation among the brands and creators or it will get affected by the introduction of the new competitor.
