Okay, but like... Miwako and Nenji as childhood friends actually makes perfect sense. (I feel like the kneejerk reaction is to think they'd be such an odd pair, but just think about it for a second...)
We know Nenji was really big on Saturday morning cartoon-esque superheroes and ideals of justice as a kid.
And Miwako is really characterized as the type of girl who falls for every mildly cool boy she meets...
I can just see baby Miwako being so enamored by Nenji's childhood antics and vows to protect her and all that, I'm sure. And it would totally puff up Nenji's ego...
They would have been fucking adorable together. And I love that their friendship survived into their teenage years.
