Old Shigaraki ware mizusashi jar 17-18th century (Dealer: misakadou) – Ko Shigaraki mizusashi (Old Shigaraki ware water jar for tea ceremony) with quite unique whitish texture, categorized into ‘Kasanemochi’ (Layered round rice cake) named by its similar form. Early Edo period. Comparatively decent form, and wildly dynamic feeling of texture, with mature presence as well. In fine antique condition as is, with aged deterioration as seen. Also, restoration at mouth-edge and aged lacquer restoration (some peelings though) at inner part for waterproofing. (* Haven’t tested its water leak for keeping its original condition.) approx.
