MLP Evil Laughter Rankings- Worst-6th
Without a doubt one of the qualities of an evil villain is that they have to have an evil laugh and Friendship is Magic and Equestria Girls is no stranger to those. So I’m about to rank the evil laughs from both series and why I think they deserve the spot they get according to my opinion. So here we go
Quick Note- For Equestria Girls I’m only doing up to Friendship Games because the Plant Quartet (Gloriosa, Juniper, Wallflower, And Vignette) didn’t really do one.
Worst Evil Laugh- Starlight Glimmer
Her evil laugh is generic out of all the villains in the series. Plus, it doesn’t even sound evil but more so like she’s acting as an evil character in a play or something. Everyone else has a better laugh than her. 0/10
13th Place- Lord Tirek
His was more of an evil chuckle in Twilight’s Kingdom and was short. School Raze just showed him at his weakest though. But he’s better than Starlight though.
12th- The Storm King
Despite only having screen time practically at the end, his evil laugh was pretty good but nowhere near my favorites. But the lightning was spot on to make him look menacing while he did it, so props there.
11th- Demon Sunset
She honestly sounded more excited than menacing when she did it. And it more so sounded like a snobbish laugh rather than evil...in my opinion, but points for uniqueness.
10th- Daybreaker
Just like her student, she also has a unique evil laugh. When I hear Daybreaker laugh...I hear a hyena laughing it’s fur off...not menacing, not maniacal...but a hyena.
Now the rest are...recognizable or memorable....
9th- Discord
I put him up here because his laugh is recognizable to the point where you hear it you know it’s Discord but as far as menacing and evil, not really. He has his sinister laughs now and then but he sounds more like a laughing game show host or something.
8th- Cozy Glow
...How in Equestria name does a little filly like that have an evil laugh like that? No seriously, how? (I’m still going with the theory that she’s not a pony but something else, not a changeling but she’s disguised or glamoured as a pony)
7th- Adagio Dazzle
Her evil chuckle was good but the only problem...it was short. Other than that I liked it...along with the rest of Rainbow Rocks...since it’s still the best movie out of the EG Film Series.
6th- Tempest Shadow
Now, Tempest’s laugh actually comes from the Deleted Opening Scene Of The MLP Movie (in my opinion which they should’ve used) but it was good and sets up Tempest as a menacing threat which fits perfectly with her character in the movie.

Ranking the mane six based off how much I like them. (Wow, a post that isn't related to Hazbin Hotel or Helluva Boss) Honestly, I don't dislike any of them, but some I can hate on at times for petty reasons
6, Twilight Sparkle
Idk man, she's just not very enjoyable to watch a lot of the time. She can stress me out a lot. And she doesn't have that cutesy charm like the others do.
5, Rainbow Dash
She's just really overrated and I don't like it. I don't find her attractive nor shippable so it's just really weird.
4, Pinkie Pie
Generic complaint, but Pinkie can be very annoying to me. But, she can still be funny sometimes.
3, Rarity
I have generally positive feelings towards Rarity I SWEAR. No I really mean it, she's pretty and funny.
2, Applejack
Applejack is really cool and I love her. I wouldn't say she's underrated tbh, but she is underappreciated.
1, Fluttershy
Fluttershy is and will always be best pony. She's just so cute and sweet.
My Top 10 Powerful MLP And Equestria Girls Characters (Magic Only)
Today I’m going to showcase my list for my opinion on the top 10 most powerful MLP and Equestria Girls characters and a list of their powers and their most notable ability. Also I’m ranking how the powers were used overall.
No magical artifacts count only natural powers ex. Alicorn Amulet, Elements Of Harmony
This list consists from Season 1-Season 8 (so far) and only the Equestria Girls movies
Magic in dream episodes don’t count except for Luna/Nightmare themselves
Comics do count (requires me to do more research)
Star Swirl is not in this list because we haven’t seen enough of him in the show
10. Princess Cadence
Cadence gets the number 10 spot because despite being an alicorn...she gets the low end of the stick when it comes to magic when it comes to Celestia, Luna, Twilight and for a brief time Flurry Heart.
Her most notable spell is making ponies fall in love as well as breaking hypnotic trances
Her other notable spell is the large barrier that she can cast over the Crystal Empire as well as crystal magic
But other than that she has the natural powers of an Alicorn as do the other princesses.
Cadence needs to be fleshed out more.
9. Queen Chrysalis
No doubt Chrysalis is a creature of pure deception and as a changeling has a very powerful advantage over other creatures...the only problem is at this point she doesn’t know how to use her powers to get what she wants but she still ranks at 9.
Her most notable ability like all changelings is feeding off love of other creatures as well as shape shifting, mind control and flight.
Chrysalis would be higher up on the list if she actually used her powers to her advantage and plan better.
8. The Dazzlings
The Dazzlings are kinda similar to changelings in terms of draining and feeding off emotion and mind control but the difference is that while the changelings feed off love the sirens feed off hate through others as feel as influencing that hate with hypnotizing songs. They have a little bit over the changelings and Chrysalis so I give them the number 8 spot
Their notable abilities are their hypnotic songs that can cause strife with people and ponies and bring out the hatred inside them so that they could feed off of that energy to get more powerful.
These three are the cause of Stygian forming the Pillars Of Equestria and his start into darkness and becoming the Pony Of Shadows as well as Star Swirl and the Pillars creating the Tree Of Harmony and the rest of the events of the series. So historically, the Dazzlings made a big impact on the series as possibly the original villains of the show kicking off everything.
Led by Adagio, the Dazzlings would’ve taken over the human world if it weren’t for Sunset Shimmer because even with the Humane 5′s magic the Humane 6 couldn’t even beat the Dazzlings and noting that they Dazzlings didn’t even feed off Twilight’s magic at all. If that would’ve happened then I think the Dazzling’s would’ve been unstoppable...in the human world that is.
7. Princess Celestia
Celestia’s isn’t in the top 5 because despite knowing a wide variety of spells like Twilight and others, her magic isn’t really fleshed out which was the same problem I had with Cadence. Sure she has a little more going for her being the Co-Ruler of Equestria and the Princess Of the Sun but her powers aren’t really specific like The Dazzlings or Chrysalis or my number 5 spot but we’ll get there.
Her most notable power is over the sun and raising the sun (and in Luna’s absence the moon) and fire abilities but even there she’s limited to the point where Daybreaker has more range abilities for example she had: fire breath, magic beams, and a solar flare type ability as opposed to Celestia
6. King Sombra
I have Sombra in the number 6 spot because of the way he used his dark magic and the fact that Celestia and Twilight learned the dark magic spell from him in a sense. And even though it’s not explained he managed to ensure that the Crystal Heart was hidden and that no pony would find it as well as banish the Crystal Empire for 1000 years that not even Celestia and Luna could protect.
His noteable ability is his dark magic which was able to show ponies their worse fears and leaving themselves in a state of sadness and fear (the Crystal Ponies), he’s able to block unicorn magic with dark crystals being fused into their horns. His dark crystals can easily overtake and corrupt the Crystal Empire itself
He was able to put a curse on an entire empire to make it disappear for 1000 years
He can turn into shadow and surround the whole empire thanks to Celestia and Luna if I might add
For Season 9, don’t do him dirty please...give him more lines and screentime. Still he’s in my top 5 villain list.
5. Luna/Nightmare Moon
They both get 5 because out of the list because out of the princesses with the exception of Twilight, their powers over the night and dream walking are more fleshed out that Celestia and Cadence put together. Even in the premiere episode of Season 1, Nightmare Moon had a wide range of abilities from: shape shifting, elemental manipulation, turning into a tornado of starry mist, etc.
Their most notable abilities is the power over the moon, night, and dream walking. They immediately have an advantage over Celestia in the dream realm since: A. She’s completely useless and B. According to A Royal Problem, Celestia had no idea what she was doing and needed Luna to help her out (motivation wise) to defeat Daybreaker
Luna helps ponies with their dreams and have a good night sleep while Nightmare (in comics only) gives ponies nightmares and this happened because Luna learned the ability to dreamwalk as Nightmare before the series (FIENDship is Magic #4)
Luna stated that dreams and nightmares can affect some ponies psyche and mental and physical state which is extremely important to function so by that alone if Luna were to turn back into Nightmare Moon and give ponies nightmares that would be dangerous to those in the dream world and real world which is why they share the fifth spot.
4. Lord Tirek
Of course he was gonna get up here without question.
He’s notable power is that he can absorb magic, granted he wouldn’t have gotten so powerful in Twilight’s Kingdom if it weren’t for Discord in the first place but he can easily take magic from all the pony races leaving them weak and unable to tend to Equestria leaving it at risk. That’s it.
Top 3 Honorable Mentions
3. Princess Flurry Heart
Being the child of the Princess of Love and the Captain Of The Royal Guard automatically counts for something. Flurry Heart’s magic rivals a newborn unicorn’s magic and had to be suppressed by a spell until she learned how to control her magic much like her aunt as well as when not using magic she has a cry strong enough to shatter the Crystal Heart...but I put her as an honorable mention cause she’s a cute little bundle of joy and anyone that hates her can fight me I WILL PROTECT THIS CHILD but yeah, she’s a baby so not much there.
For this next pick, I know I said magic only but she goes in here for reasons
2. Zecora
She’s can cure a chipped tooth, cure Poison Joke, knows the magic of the Everfree and is bold enough to live there, has a potion that can counter Discord’s magic, and even create removal potions that not even powerful unicorns can counter...and the fact that she can balance on her bamboo stick on one leg...she’s magical in my book, it’s unfortunate that we can’t go explore more Zebra culture...
1. Star Swirl The Bearded
So of course Star Swirl was gonna get in here. The reason why I didn’t include him in the list is because the comics are off and on about him and it’s confusing but naturally he’s the Father of over 200 spells, put the Sirens in the Equestria Girls world AKA another dimension, was the mentor of Celestia and Luna and traveled dimensions through mirrors including the creator of the Crystal Mirror and even saved Celestia and Luna in an alternate universe.
Now Tirek was gonna be 3rd place but the Season 8 Finale proved otherwise and because of that 3rd place ends in a tie between:
3. Princess Twilight and Evil Princess Twilight
If Evil Twilight has practically the same magical abilities as Twilight then she’s definitely on this list considering how powerful Twilight really is and that she’s her copy. Twilight’s magic is the most fleshed out between all the princesses with her main ability to learn different types of magic ranging from levitation to catching flame. She’s able to absorb magic, take away magic and get magic transferred to her like the princesses magic and that she has raw magic just by her lonesome.
Her most notable spell is being able to copy and quickly learn magic from others like the dark magic spell from Celestia (Sombra), the gem finding spell from Rarity, the crystallization spell from Starlight.
She can easily copy a spell without her horn being active and just by looking
She’s able store the magic of the other three alicorn princesses as well as the magic from other mythical creatures including Tirek himself
She’s able to counter Discord’s magic: her memory spell is able to counter his discordant spell that he had on the Mane 5 and her barriers are strong enough to undo Discord’s chaos magic (a little)
2. Discord
Discord can bend the fabric of reality to his will if he pleases. He’s able to easily render ponies useless of their magic or abilities with a snap of his fingers. He can mess with other ponies minds and perform mind control and other feats of magic. His one weakness however is that if he becomes “normal” he starts to lose his powers and can fade away from existence as what almost happened in Discordant Harmony.
1. Midnight Sparkle
Midnight Sparkle can easily rip open multiple rifts to Equestria causing both worlds to slowly be destroyed in the process. Fueled by the Element Of Magic she can also fire massive beams of energy. She was so powerful that even Sunset Shimmer as Daydream Shimmer came moments away from losing and she was practically at the same level in terms of power.
