rewatching mlp and I remember why I hated early Spike, it's because he's such a fucking asshole. Bridle Gossip he laughs at and makes fun of them all and does the same thing during Winter Wrap Up to Twilight when she's very clearly distressed about it all. He has the fucking audacity to scream "the nerve!" when HE was the one to suggest Twilight should use magic in the first place. I get he's a kid and all but goodness gracious

Always going to disagree with the "Spike saved the Crystal Empire" narrative. This is partly because I hate him but also because it's just... not true. Yeah he had a role in getting the Crystal Heart to where it was supposed to be but... hmmm... who's that catching him?

that's right it's PRINCESS CADANCE on exactly ZERO hours of sleep soaring through the air (thanks to shining armor we love you) doing this right about to pass out.

Spike didn't save the Empire — not on his own. Like Twilight, he had help! From Princess Cadance and Shining Armor! But the show glosses over their roles in this and it greatly irks me! Give them some credit! Give PRINCESS CADANCE SOME CREDIT for keeping her shield up for who knows how long and then catching Spike at 200mph. PLEASE!!!
