The characters the mane 9 take the roles of:

Rainbow = Jake

Twilight = John

Applejack = Dirk

Rarity = Roxy

Pinkie = Jane

Fluttershy = Jade

Starlight = Rose

Sunset = Dave

Spike = Casey

Now these are just the roles they’re placed in, the way they are/act and the way their dynamics work are gonna be different than the original characters from the comic

Like, Applejack has Dirk’s role but she’s just a mechanic who wants to live in the countryside surrounded by grass and trees instead of being a master-manipulator roboticist obsessed with irony.

She also doesn’t end up being the one who raises Sunset, Older™️ Rainbow’s the one that does that, and Older™️ Applejack is also the one who raises Fluttershy(though for a very small period of time)
