So. Do humans work with or under the turtles? Or are they there own department that just takes over some situations. Like detectives with police.
Is there friendly fire? Hehe

The turtles are actually their own department entirely.
Think less "higher-ranking officers" and more "a completely separate branch that answers directly to CORE."
Human MONO.ORG employees exist, but most of them don't work under the turtles. They have their own supervisors, departments, duties, and chains of command.
The turtles just operate... kinda alongside all of that. It's kind of similar to detectives arriving at a scene, except with significantly more authority.
As for humans and mutants working together... Welp— segregation is a huge issue.
Even inside MONO.ORG facilities located within Mutant Town, human staff are often restricted to designated workspaces, offices, housing areas, or secure sections.
Officially it's about safety, logistics, and operational efficiency. Unofficially, a lot of humans are scared of mutants, a lot of mutants resent humans and MONO.ORG's existence hasn't magically fixed any of those feelings.
There's a massive social divide that everyone kind of pretends isn't there.
As for friendly fire, oh absolutely. Not usually in the literal sense, the turtles generally aren't attacking their coworkers 😭 (unless absolutely necessary), but conflicts happen.
Human personnel don't always appreciate mutant operatives showing up and taking over investigations, mutants don't always appreciate human staff treating them like potential threats.
So while they're all technically supposed to be on the same side, there can be a lot of tension.
And yes Strife is absolutely a toasted marshmallow. A toasted marshmallow that can throw a car through a wall. But still a marshmallow nonetheless.
