Working on a consistent Rukia redesign.

1st is a rehash of the initial design. Not feeling it for Ru, but will probably use elements of the design with her siblings. 2nd is if I have her go down the mermaid princess path. Really just her canon design with several tweeks. 3rd is (my current favorite) if I have her go down that panthalassa path. 4th I don't really care for, except for the hair, which is a contender for her human form hair. idk

Recently did some doodles for my Rukia replacement fanon kid with an oc challenge on the discord (og, child, evil, genderbent). She’s still nameless, I thought I’d settled on “Aria”, but it’s not sticking anymore. Oh well.

I got a shower idea hold up. Spoilers for the actual Mermaid Melody below.

OK SO LIKE I’ve been thinking about giving each pearl a special attribute for flavor and magic system stuff. For example, users of the Pink Pearl can do healing magic or something, which I would use as a thing only Lucia can do in the script.

SO remember when Sheshe and Mimi steal the Yellow and Indigo Pearls from Gaito? What if they get more than just a general power boost from using the pearls? I’m thinking the Yellow Pearl’s attribute would be “Courage” and the Indigo Pearl’s would be “Wisdom”.

Since Sheshe steals the Indigo, she’d be a much more cunning villain! She would pose a much bigger threat to our heroes! Mimi, using the Yellow, would become much bolder in her attacks, again making her more threatening. At this point, our heroes would be now fighting Gaito and the Dark Lovers as well as a rebelling BBS. Higher stakes! Maybe some plans of each villain party only fail bc they are in each others’ way?

HOWEVER these attributes might eventually lead to Mimi and Sheshe fighting! Sheshe wants to be more methodical, but Mimi wants to rush into things. Maybe this is where Mimi’s budding independence really grows, and this is the reason they go their separate ways for a bit (in Pure).

I think that having Sheshe and Mimi become separate entities from Gaito will help me keep them around longer, which is something I’d like to do.

ofc there would be a costume change as well
