i don't think alec would ever be a Jewelry Guy like magnus is, but i do think that he would have his favorite bracelets that he wears everyday, you know? (i hc that necklaces aren't really his thing and neither are rings as they feel a bit constricting to him, especially big ones, and he's just like, hyperaware of them, you know? but some loose soft fabric bracelets are great for him and again STIMMING) and i think the idea would come from magnus
either because magnus openly suggests it (he sees the way alec struggles to stay still sometimes, and he's like, you know one of the reasons why i wear so many necklaces? they're great to play with and they help me ease my mind. maybe you should try something like that?) or because alec starts stealing them like he did in the photoshoot, out of curiosity and just good old Being A Little Shit disease, also because he's a simp and loves playing with magnus' fingers/hands and that gives him an excuse... anyway
point is he starts stealing them to wear just to see the way magnus huffs and then proceeds to let him, all soft smiles because in reality magnus loves the casualness of it all, the casual touching and sharing (because he knows alec would stop if he asked, you know, it's not invasive) and just feeling like really they are sharing space and things? like they are a part of each other's lives? you know? he rarely had something like that with a romantic partner before and it's nice
and he gets all soft and alec gets all soft watching him get all soft.... i'm getting sidetracked again my pOINT is that once he starts stealing magnus' bracelets he realizes that he likes them? not exactly magnus' bracelets because those are heavier as i feel magnus has hyposensitivity so he likes heavier jewelry that give him that Good Pressure he craves, whereas alec is more sensitive and he wants softer stuff? also, metals are cold, and yikes
but he realizes he likes the general feeling and then one day out of curiosity he ends up getting a looser, fabric one (maybe from his mom's shop? idk) and he realizes that they really help a lot and from then on he always has that bracelet with him and he can fiddle with that and stim when he needs to and it makes his life so much better. altho his favorite thing to play with will always be magnus' hands uwu but alas, they are not always available for that
