Some history of First Avenue music venue!
First Avenue was originally a Greyhound bus station, opening in 1937.
The building was later transformed into a nightclub and music venue, which became a significant cultural landmark in Minneapolis.
The venue is famously associated with Prince, who got his start there and even had a star painted on the outside wall! First Avenue is known for its stars painted on the outside wall, honoring various artists who have performed there. After Prince passed away, First Avenue painted his star gold and hosted a fitting tribute.
The venue has hosted numerous memorable performances, including Rammstein, Doomtree, OK Go, and many others. and remains one of the most well loved music venues in Minnesota history.
