[ GLIDE ] sender is gently rubbing/scratching receiver's back and rubs their knuckle down their spine to the small of their back
he isn't sure how he ended up face down and shirtless in the older man's bed, but there he is. monty has never been one to make good decisions, especially when it comes to men with handsome faces, it's why he's even on the island in the first place.
he's panicking internally almost the entire time, even if saxon's touch is firm and soothing, working his muscled back just right. the thought that the last time he slipped up for a moment alone with a man led to disaster makes it so he can't allow himself to fully settle. he's sure saxon can feel how tense he is.
then he gets to the small of his back and a moan leaves his lips at the feeling.
immediately monty's eyes widen and a chill goes through the room.
“uh-eh-” he starts uneasily, “sorry. it's been a while…since i had a massage like this...”
what: disgruntled, icy french canadian fighting many demons including his useless phone.
where: just outside the cabins
"tabarnak!!!"
the expletive is said with as much force as possible, as monty throws his phone roughly into the ground, a little gust of wind carrying it further than it would've gone otherwise. he doesn't even care. it's become exceedingly clear that they weren't joking when they said no outside technology works on the island.
monty just wants some semblance of normalcy, something to hold onto from his life outside. he wanted to check on his team and see how they're doing, maybe call a friend or teammate.
he sighs and goes to retrieve the phone after a few seconds of stewing in his feelings, only to see that it's completely frozen.
“such a piece of shit,” he grumbles as he tosses it back in his pocket, only then noticing that someone had witnessed that entire ordeal as he fought with his phone and ultimately lost.
he flushes in embarrassment, feeling caught and exposed, before settling on anger instead and rolling his eyes with a disgruntled sound.
“câlisse! i am not a performer, or a circus clown for you to watch!"
[ carlos cuevas, gay (closeted), man & he/him ] — a new age of heroes approaches, among those is MONTAGUE ‘MONTY’ CHEVY, child of BOREAS. they have walked this earth for 26 YEARS, living in PARIS, as a HOCKEY PLAYER, until they came to the isle of olympus 00 years ago. they will carve their name in myth with their RESPONSIBILITY, HARDWORKING NATURE, AND DISCIPLINE, but the fates know of their PARANOIA, GUARDED NATURE, AND CYNICISM that may immortalize them forever. the battles ahead will shape them into who they are destined to be, but will this cause the age of the gods to fall and the age of monsters to rise? only the fates know the truth and those prophecies have yet been uttered. let their heroism shine against the challenges ahead. godspeed, demigod! —
same old story, oh, you want glory son...
montague chevy, son of boreas:
growing up the youngest boy in his family, in a small town on the outskirts of quebec, monty always knew he wanted more for himself. he was the pride and hope of his family, who owned a small ice cream shop. the walls of the shop were always lined with the best hockey stars from canada, and a couple of photos of his dad's glory days as a hockey player. it was one of the only avenues monty ever saw as his way out of the town he grew up in, not wanting to be trapped there forever, destined to work at his family's shop or somewhere else in town.
he had a prowess on the ice that was like magic, and despite him not really caring for the sport all that much, monty went with it. if you're good at something, you pursue it, right? who cares if most of his life would be dedicated to something he doesn't care about, something that would inevitably dictate every choice he makes, if it brings him and his family a good life. money, glory, honor. everything a man should want. and most importantly, it would give him his ticket away from the smalltown assholes he grew up around.
the pursuit of hockey led him to be drafted into paris' hockey team, a far cry away from his hometown. he was finally free from the people he grew up around, only to realize that he could never truly be himself in his chosen career anyway. he realized he was gay in his early twenties and has kept it under wraps, only ever acting upon it when he absolutely needs release. monty knows hockey is a hypermasculine space, that wouldn't accept him with open arms.
one such night, sneaking around with a man, after almost a year of celibacy, monty was attacked by a monster with the thirst for godly blood. he and the man he was with made it out alive, but with scars both physical and internal. he was urged to come to olympus, where he could hone his skills and face off against the threat properly.
he almost rejected it all, not wanting to let go of his life, but he knows that this could threaten everything. he barely got away with keeping his unfortunate rendezvous a secret.
monty is navigating this new life on olympus, unsure what it all means for him, but knowing deep down that he's always longed for something more. this could be his ticket out of the gilded cage he's built for himself. he's still unsure though, and he isn't ready to fully trust anything, or anyone just yet. and is he prepared to have yet another secret to keep from his family, friends, and his teammates?
he's a respected, successful young man who fears this will all be his undoing, yet craves it all the same. monty doesn't know who he truly is, or what he wants, but he's ready to finally find out.
