The non-human anthropomorphic beings from the Sonic the Hedgehog universe(s). Commonly mislabeled as Mobians, anthros may or may not identify as Mobian. Perhaps because Mobius did not exist in their world, or they are not from that planet.

This identity is based off my own exomemories! I'm an anthro from Earth and I get annoyed by having a Mobian identity slapped on me when it doesn't apply lol. Mobians are welcome to identify as anthro ofc!! Squares and rectangles etc etc. I just needed my own word too :)

The weird part of untangling myself from my headmate is that my sense of what my gender is hasn't changed at all, but the perception of it has.

because "I" knew what having a human gender felt like, my own gender as a Mob/ian dude stood out enough that I felt like I needed to emphasize the difference, treat it like a totally different gender

Thing is, we DO have a different conception of things like "maleness" and "masculine" than humans do. But humans... also have a different conception of those things from other humans. And they're not alone in having various different cultures and peoples. I mean, for god's sake, "Mob/ian" isn't even a single species! and that's going to have an effect even if you're looking at one specific culture.

Since getting some distance from the "being human" thing, it's like this weird in between to me now. not a human gender, but in the same family I guess. It probably helps that we got to more or less coexist with each other in my source/canon, so naturally our ideas are gonna get bridged one way or another.

I've been Mobiankin for like 12 years now with a noncanon Sonic Mobian and it is an experience. Because intrinsically that's just me and how I've experienced life. It deeply effects me because I can remember being a good friend to Sonic and the gang, and that's why the series is so important to me, even now.
