Alright first things first, I am no longer a part of the Officialverse. However I was a part of it for a very long while. And since I left I have been watching this discourse unfold.
Now the reason I bring this up at the start is because, I know the "rules". I know how the Officialverse is ran and how the people in it interact and the general atmosphere of the community. And knowing that information is very important when understand what exactly is happening here.
What's happening here, at the core, is basically a clash in personalities and general respect. There has and always will be people who join the Officialverse and don't necessarily fit with the majority. However that is no reason to kick them out or put them on a blacklist. It does become a problem when the person starts disrespecting or acting out inappropriately.
As the mod of Goofy-Official put it:
Now that response was pointed at Gaston after this discourse. Specifically the part, "The really only way to handle them mod is just to make the person feel so unwelcome that they just leave on their own", is not advice for everyone who goes against the grain in the Officialverse. That quote only relates to those who are going out of their way to cause trouble and discourse in the community.
Now I'm sure, if this post gets some much needed attention, the new people will be confused as to what actually happened. And I'm sure there will be a few who might agree with what Gaston has done however it is important to keep in mind that the Officialverse is a tight-knit group that are very diverse in their life and past experiences. Because of that people often find certain things uncomfortable or unsettling to talk about or to be around.

Now I know for a fact that the people in the Officialverse are very open and caring. They try their best to offer help and comfort for whoever might be feeling less than ideal. I've seen people rush to offer any help they can give. Which is why I find this next part hard to believe.

Like I said earlier I have no way of currently accessing the full conversation that sparked this however after being a part of the community for way longer than Gaston or Lefou I can say without a doubt that this is extremely overexaggerated.
But if you still think that the hate is underserved then I'll give you one last screenshot and then I'll get into some stuff I think people should have mentioned a little earlier.

I'm not really here to convince anyone that he doesn't care about the Officialverse though, I'm sure we've all gathered that much already. I'm just trying to create a fairly detailed PSA about this account.

This is from Gaston. This was in his "13 Reasons Why I'm Leaving The Officialverse" post that ended up being fake.
The reason I bring this up is because for a while the oldest people in the Officialverse were like 18 with the majority of them being younger. I was on the older end of the group and I felt like had I been any older, this stupid little ironic meme rp would've been weird/creepy. So the fact that the mod of Gaston is a fully grown adult with a child, who is around the age of most of the officials, is extremely concerning to me. It's like a grown adult showing up to a random kid's birthday party.
