Happy three-year anniversary of the release of the Beforus album!
Welcome to the Homestuck and MSPA Music wiki - Please spread us around and help out!
Heya!
If you know Homestuck, then you’re probably aware of the prodigious amount of both official and unofficial music that surrounds the comic. In the eight years since Homestuck’s inception, the music of MS Paint Adventures has become a cultural phenomenon in its own right, and has given birth to a vast discography comprising dozens of albums and thousands of individual tracks from both the official music team and hundreds of indie fan musicians that continues to grow even to this day. With the recent release of fan albums like Weird Puzzle Tunes and projects like Ancestral and LoFaM 4 on the near horizon, the growth of the Homestuck music community and the expansion of the discography surrounding the comic doesn’t appear to be slowing down any time soon.
Despite the extent of the community around Homestuck and MSPA Music (HaMM), there has never been a centralized hub for information about the musicians, artists, and projects that have contributed to it over the years! Indeed, with word of mouth being the main way that Homestuck music fanworks have found their audience, much content that lacks large initial exposure ends up fading into relative obscurity, and even more mainstream album releases often do not come packaged with much information about the musicians who created them.
The HaMM wiki therefore is a project that aims to collate information about Homestuck music, album releases, and musicians to one centralized hub. We collect information about tracks, artists, and albums, and present them in an interlinked format on the wiki for ease of access to information! Heard a song you like? Look it up on the wiki to discover other songs by the same artists, spread across Homestuck and MSPA’s formidable list of official music releases, fan releases, and solo projects that often rarely see the light of day. Want to know which songs reference leitmotifs from other songs? Our wiki hopes to keep a record of that, too! (With due referencing from the nsnd, of course. :)),
Since our inception a few months ago, and thanks to ardent work and the development of automatic wiki bots by our relatively tiny contributor base, we have already grown the HaMM wiki to over 1000 pages. This is of course wonderful, but again, the scope of the MSPA discography is such that this is far less than half of the information that we hope for the wiki to cover, and it largely omits the work of some smaller fan musicians. To change this, we’re hoping you can help contribute! The wiki is easy to edit, and even contributing a small amount of new information can help fill in blank pages or put online information about a song or musician who doesn’t yet have a wiki presence. Help out your favourite musicians and artists by adding them to the wiki! The scope of the wiki includes any and all Homestuck music and fan music - so you can even add information about yourself and your own Homestuck music projects.
If you want to get involved in a more organized capacity, then we have a discord channel for editor discussion, as well as a spreadsheet for co-coordinating wiki editors and content. We will also be looking to feature articles and content from the community on this blog, as well as more general HaMM information, so follow here to see content from the wiki as well as to maybe see your own contributions recognized!

At the moment, our group of regular contributors is small, and it is hard to frow the wiki to include the sort of detailed, in-depth articles and content we want to see on it without more support. We’re really hoping that we can be a good center for the Homestuck music community, and to do that we need to find more people who can help us add wiki content. Anyone can help out, even if only in a small way through adding a page or a sentence or two on the wiki, and beyond that, we’d really appreciate it if you could spread about this post (or others) to help us reach a wider audience and more potential editors. We rely on the community to help us expand the wiki, so thank you so much for taking the time to read this, and for potentially helping us grow!
All the best, and happy listening!
Happy 1 year anniversary of the release of the Beforus album!
The future of Team Virgo and RotG
Hello, Mod NTP here.
You may have noticed that Team Virgo has been very quiet for several months. This has largely been due to personal issues on my part having made it impossible for me to further contribute to the team and the RotG project.
I am now back, but in my absence there has been a fair bit of absence in the fanmusic community, and the overwhelming consensus among both other fan music groups and many of our own members has been to enact a merger of all Homestuck fanmusic related groups into a single consolidated group.
While I was reluctant to give up my ownership of Team Virgo, our projects (and the legacy of the Beforus project), I feel like it would be arrogant to resist the wishes of the larger community after being absent for so long, especially when the winds are blowing so strongly in a single direction.
The RotG concept will now be under ownership of the consolidated Homestuck fan musicians group. I have turned over all my files and information to them. Given that this is no longer my team that will be working with the concept (assuming that people decide to continue it), I will also be stepping down from an active leadership role. I am, in fact, very tired as it is.
I’m very sorry to see everything go. I feel that I let down the community and Team Virgo in my absence, and I’m sorry to see everything end this way (and especially to lose control of my project(s) after the process that went into assembling this team while publishing the Beforus album (still one of the best things I’ve ever done)), but the Homestuck fan music community is shrinking, I have not had an active role in working on new content for months, and trying to hold onto Team Virgo at this point may well be akin to holding onto something that no longer really exists.
All the best, and many thanks,
Mod NTP (Blackhole) : @not-terezi-pyrope

I’m afraid we’re no longer accepting applications; this blog is now defunct and the previous project (Rubric of the Guardians) is moving forward in a different form in which the previous mods and I are not directly involved.
RotG Applications Update
Okay, so, at this point, the vast majority of applications have been reviewed and responded to. There are a small number of you who I have yet to get back to still, but you will be hearing from me very soon if that is the case!
Anyway, we are still open for applications, particularly for musician roles (although there are some visual artist spots left open also). If you haven’t yet applied, but would be interested in the chance to be featured in a Homestuck fan album hosted alongside the LoFaM Albums and Beforus, then please check out blog pages for details on how to apply!
Looking forward to hearing from you soon,
- Mod NTP.
RotG applications update
Hey! Just dropping in to let everyone know that I’m still reviewing RotG applications! Sorry that it’s taking a while, I’m very busy irl, and am swamped in applications, many of which I’m having to chase up with people. Additionally, I’m having to be a lot more comparative when I’m choosing contributors to accept, due to the limited number of spaces, so even applications that I have already reviewed I may not yet have answered because I need to consider all applicants together in order to make my decisions.
However, I can assure you that things are still underway and that if you haven’t heard from me yet you can expect to soon!
