one tiny thing that's giving me the tiniest bit of pause with giving mr. qi new portraits is that his smile and straight-faced expressions are actually flipped compared to most npcs (eg, the code for his smile is most villagers' neutral expression, and the code for his "neutral expression" is most villager's smile). this would be fine, but the fact that I'm turning him into a regular interactable villager means that any time he uses default dialogue there's a chance he'll display the wrong expression. but flipping them myself would mean editing all of his existing lines to change the portrait.
I think for now I'll leave it as-is and see if there are any issues in playtesting, since most default dialogue is stuff like, reactions to the player rummaging through garbage cans
