Lon’qu originally lived in the slums of Chon’sin. He was poor but had some good friends in high places, especially a girl named Ke’ri. They were childhood sweethearts. They would spend long days together and Ke’ri would even sneak out just to be with Lon’qu. One day, while having a picnic, a gang attacked the two of them and Lon’qu lost his longtime lover. He ran away from his home, all the way to Chon’sin. He forgot everyone he knew about and tried to start anew, a cold barrier blocking out plenty of emotions.

One day while travelling, he came upon a Sneasel. Normally, he would think nothing of Pokemon and just pass by. However, this one was persistent. The Sneasel kept following him no matter where he went. Lon’qu did everything he could to shoo him away. The Sneasel still followed. He paid mostly no mind to it.

When he entered Regna Ferox, Lon’qu was met with several soldiers blocking the way through and attacked him. The Sneasel defended him and made sure no harm came to him. Ever since, Lon’qu and Ansem have been longtime pals. Ansem never fights in battles, however. He only watches from the sidelines just in case.

Lon’qu was brought to the West Khan in order to settle the business between him and the soldiers. Instead of reprimanding him, Basilio welcome Lon’qu into his ranks and taught him how to do Pokemon battles. After years of catching pokemon, training, and battling, Lon’qu found himself a Gym Leader. Of course, he couldn’t have done it without his husband’s help. Even though Libra is one of the Elite Four, they still keep close contact.

    Lon'qu was silent the whole time that Libra spoke. He didn’t look directly at the Monk’s eye, still embarrassed from admitting everything. At first his face was filled with pain. His eyes were glassy from thinking of everything; it seemed that Lon'qu was ready to cry at any moment.

    As Libra kept on, his expression seemed to turn back to his usual monotonous look. It took a lot to make Lon'qu cry in front of someone and he thought that he was going to do it here, but he didn’t. He kept the tears back and the glassiness in his eyes disappeared. He was now at ease. But his gaze never left the floor until Libra finished all he had to say.

    And Lon'qu took in every word.

    He took a moment to imagine his happy place. It was a dense forest, filled with bugs and new things to explore. It would be snowing gently with no breeze present. It was comfortably cold so he could easily keep warm in his coat. This is what Lon'qu thought of to calm down.

    The War Monk knew it all. Lon'qu wouldn’t forget this.

    The Myrmidon looked up to Libra, breaking his stare at the floor. His expression was now soft and his words were sincere. “I would let you speak more if you had anymore advice. Thank you, this helped a lot.” A hint of a smile played at his lips.

Where they were born: Technically none of these, but she did originate from Ylisse in a way.

First pokemon and why: Mama Cucco– the little Taillow was the first pokemon she encountered, and she immediately took to the little bird. She doesn’t usually battle with her– that work is more for the three starters– but the birb knows how to take care of herself.

Trainer, Ranger, or Nurse and why: Trainer. Shanzira just appeared one day, showed up in Ylisse with a green Taillow on her shoulder and begged for more friends. This got her a Charmander, a reliable little one whom she named Snugglezard in anticipation of its evolution– and as a promise to help him grow. She ran back out to the wilderness again with all the empty pokeballs she could carry and got searching– both for pokemon to train against and new friends. After so, so, so many encounters and hours of sweat under the sun, she found herself a delightful little team of gleaming buddies. Cannonball and Firecracker are not trained because she claims they’re too cute to evolve, though Cannonball seems to want to grow strong, so who knows.

Notes: Shanzira wakes around 9am every morning and sleeps around 9pm every night. There’s a half-hour variable sometimes, and other times she will suddenly nap at a random time or wake in the night– but those are rare occasions, and seem to only happen if something bad is about to happen. It’s rather strange.

As much as Shanzira wanted to respond with ‘I was careful,’ it would only give the impression that she’d ignore that piece of advice. It was true, though; she had been careful. Just incredibly unlucky. Usually her luck was pretty sweet– well, she supposed that had manifested in getting saved by this guy, who also had the bonus of some glorious hair.

“That’s not a normal occurrence for me.” She considered the giant, hulking monsters that had attacked her. Masked, too. She wasn’t sure what to call them. “Trouble and I mutually avoid each other most of the time.”

She moved a hand to gingerly feel her side, where she had taken a hard hit. Ooogh… That probably didn’t bode well. “I need to get this punch looked at. I think one of those things might’ve hit something vital.”

Island ;;

Islands must be based off their type of pokemon. It can be designed however you like, so long as no legionaries are present. If you rather a mod randomly generate you an island leave this section blank and italicized. 

Name: Island of the Tatsus Terrain Type: A hilly terrain abounding with broken brown stones, and dotted with tall plants. There are a few marshes found around the island. From the Elite’s castle, the sea can only be seen to the south. It’s obscured by trees and other wild overgrowth. Most of the plants that grow here are purple, but blues and yellows can be found. With red being a rarity. Dragon pokemon seem to flock to this area. Weather: Extremely humid and warm. Unless trainers have the fortune of being sheltered by the islands overgrowth, than they’re being beaten down by the sun. Rain here is never cold. Since the island’s creation there hasn’t been any reports of snowfall.

First pokemon and why: Eruca’s first was a Charmander, a warm little guy who kept her company in a time of darkness and despair. She named him Char-Char, and when he evolved into a Charizard she changed it to Snugglezard. She still has this very old friend, but prefers not to battle with him as an elite– he’s just her old buddy and a very reliable source of sun/warmth. Char-Char was given to her by her mother, a woman who also loved the dragon type and especially loved fire-types.

How they became a part of the Elite Four: This is a secret she keeps very tightly. It is not written down anywhere, and she will not speak of it except to a small handful and in vague or coded language. Eruca Redlin was born as Noel Dinrel, daughter of a certain Shanzira Dinrel. She was born just in time for humanity to fall to Plegia’s Fell Dragon, Grima– not even hitting adolescence when her friends’ parents slowly began to pass, one by one. Noel’s father died early on. Her mother clung on to the very end to protect her daughter and her friends, knowing that the future– even if it wasn’t this future– depended on their survival. Noel was raised with a steep learning curve when she learned to fight– she had to be able to best hordes of the undead in order to survive. She lost more than a few of the pokemon she trained, learning to harden her heart and soldier on without her fallen comrades. She learned to make them the best, the very strongest: she could only choose partners with high potential for fear of them falling in battle. This habit exists even in her adult age– she does live a rather dangerous life, after all. When all hope for her world seemed lost, Noel and her friends traveled through time to the past, intending to rewrite history… She is in Nohr for a job, one which she has been paid highly for, but she won’t say that– she’ll never reveal her origins if she has a choice. Still, she enjoys the privilege that comes with being in the employ of the upper crust of Nohr– strong opponents, good pay, and satisfying rewards.

Eruca had found herself quite annoyed with her last task. There was… more than a little negotiation, sneaking, and thievery involved, and she was certainly up to it… it simply had tried her patience. Niles told her that Lord Leo needed two particular keys, and described them at length.

Of course it was only once Eruca had done a bit of investigating that she had learned they both belonged to two opposing criminal organizations within Windmire’s underbelly which were apparently near to war. She’d had to retrieve them without causing them to suspect each other (gods knew innocents would be caught in the crossfire) while also protecting her own reputation.

Several well-planned investigations, disguises, and infiltrations later, she had what was asked of her. Two very specific keys. But while on this mission, she had thoughts. Wasn’t Niles best qualified for this? He was most familiar with criminals, whereas Eruca looked more book-smart than street-smart. She’d mused over it in her spare time, regarding it as being another important facet of the mission. She believed she had herself an answer as she walked to find Niles, though she had no intent on speaking those suspicions.

“I have what you have asked of me.” She held up a hand and opened it, letting the two keys float above it, suspended by magic.

Backstory ;;

Lucina was born to Ylisse. A Ylisse that few alive can claim to have seen. This isn’t a fact she will boast, but it does explain why she seems to have a vague knowledge of things that have yet to happen and the baggage of anxiety that accompanies this information. Still, she’s managed this life well. Far better than the one she grew up in.

Sylveon was her first pokemon. Unfortunately, due to childish tendencies, her name is more of a nickname than a legitimate name. That doesn’t stop Lucina from loving any less, of course. They share a close bond. Sylvie is the only one of Lucina’s pokemon that is rarely seen within her pokeball. The fact that the ribbon pokemon opts for holding the Lucina’s wrist in place of her hand helps mitigate her anxiety levels, thus making them a good duo.

Due to Chrom being her father (technically at least) she was given immediate rights to Ylisse’s battle mansion. Though she’s rarely there, there are rumors of her running underground with the Rapture gang- a force some claim she started herself.

          No. No, please don’t ask her that. Oh how she wished she could give way to the wry laugh that the question summoned. Somewhere safe? In all her years, when had she ever been safe? The word almost seemed fake. To be safe was to be…Sheltered…Protected… It’s very meaning mocked her. Shook her to the core. 

          Caused emotions that she’d long since dismissed to resurface. Raising them from the graves she’d abandoned them in. Why? Why had she been chosen to carry this burden? There was no greater pain she could imagine than to be stripped of her parents so young, only to be given the chance to see them again. Truly see them again. Witness them in all there glory, but forced to withheld emotions which lurked underneath reserved fronts. To watch them go about. She was a stranger.‘Marth’ they had called her. ‘Princess’ she yearned for. ‘My darling’, ‘Pookie’, ‘Baby girl’.

 She hated this.

          Fingers curled around the hem of her tunic. Fabric clutched dangerously tight between her fingers. And her face- torn between sorrow and a desperate longing. ‘Please,’ she wished to say, ‘do not make me choose between what is right and what I need.’

                    “I…”

         Naga, please spare her the tears. Please spare her the thought of how kind her mother was. How beautiful. Brave. Selfless.Hesitant steps are taking her back again hands coming to wipe at the corners of her eyes. Breaths falling shallow, and she’s shaking her head. No, she didn’t. But no, she couldn’t accept the offer.

                    “Robin… I..”

        No, no, no, this wasn’t going as she had planned. Even if she could will the words from her mouth, what would her mother think? Brought to tears over something so idle, so…insignificant. Had she’d seen? The name having burnt her tongue. That’s not what she wanted to call her. Mother. Please. Tiny hiccups further disrupting her tiny breaths.

                “I’m sorry. I… I can’t stay with you. E-Even if I wanted to.”

        A silent, ‘and I do’ left to hang in the air as she shakes her head one final time. Comfort was a luxury she must learn to do without. Those arms, smile, and soft spoken words were not meant for her but another. One who’s future would not be so bleak, but filled with the hugs, and gently placed kisses she had gone without. Somehow, this doesn’t make her feel any better. She’s retreating again, head snapping away as parting words aremouthed more than anything else.

                “Excuse me.”
