Iracema Matias – Owner, Founder and Stylist at Regarde Moi, Iracema is ready to take on the world with her glamorous, ceremonial and stylish African Fashion designs. Although she holds a license in Human Resources, she is today, after one year on the Angolan market, going into the next big phase regarding her brand: the inauguration of her own, atelier, store, showroom in Matumba, Angola at the during the month of August.
Iracema Matias Conquering Angolan Fashion With Glamorous Designs
Let’s dive into her world and learn more about this fierce and stylish woman
How did you start your entry in the Fashion World?
I started in the fashion world as a model. But I was not really interested in being a model. I never really thought about become a stylist either.
What about your opportunity as a Designer?
My opportunity as a designer came through the event Moda Solidaria. I first participated as a Designer in 2017. Thanks to the opportunity, I have been able to show my designs in other events such as Moda Luanda, Angola Fashion Week and other events.
Iracema Matias graduated from an Italian Fashion school located in Nigeria. Although she had the opportunity to develop her business in France and in Dubai, she choose her native country, Angola as the headquarter and base for her brand. In addition, to tackling the Angolan Fashion market by the horns, she also is versatile in her designs. She uses a mixture of different fabrics, from the renowned African Wax, to the French dentelle. Her creations vary by styles, but she is mainly focused on fashioning glamorous clothing.
«I’m inspired by all African women but especially Angolan woman because, the Angolan woman likes to be seen and show her curves». – said Iracema Matias.
Moda Solidaria
Iracema Matias and Regarde Moi have been on the catwalk of the Moda Solidaria event since her first participation. She will thus be present at the 2018 Moda Solidaria to present her collection based on the theme glamorous Secrets composed of fifteen (15) pieces.
In addition to doing her part in helping the community through her participation in the event, the Designer is also wanting to show people that «anything is possible when you believe in and follow your dream».
«People are ignorant when it comes to African Fashion. And I want to enhance it through my creations on an international level and show the world the African know-how.» – said she.
The 2018 Moda Solidaria will take place in Luanda on September 14, 15 and 16.
