SPC ups threat to Moderate Risk for tomorrow

The SPC has increased the risk for severe weather tomorrow to a Moderate Risk. That is a four our of five, where five is the highest risk. From: spc.noaa.gov The Storm Prediction Center meteorologists will continue to monitor this situation.

North Texas, Southern Oklahoma to Be Impacted by Significant Severe - May 25, 2015

Well, it looks like today is going to be a day where we see another significant round of severe storms with flooding rains, large hail, damaging winds, and tornadoes in the region. A moderate (4 of 5) risk is currently out for the Plains, from Nebraska to Texas, with a large enhanced risk surrounding that. Supercells in Northwest Oklahoma - April 8, 2015

Yesterday certainly didn’t turn out like we had hoped, as we ended up choosing the wrong storm and that led us to missing out on a small tornado event along the OK/KS border. Even more painful is that I had written in my forecast blog yesterday morning that we were watching that area specifically for tornadoes.  (more…)
