Jamal teleported far within the newcomer's personal space, a hazey trail of smoke left in the genie's wake. He looked dead in the man's eyes upon landing.
"You," He gestured to the icey structure next to them, hoping that they could see with what little space he provided. "How did you make that?"
"Lyon-sama," She smiled at him, droplets hurtling down her cheek and onto her already damp palms. Her tears overflowed to fall gracefully along with each droplet, the brim of her large orbs no longer able to contain that pesky liquid. "J-Juvia feels weird, Lyon-sama…"
"Juvia, please, come here…" His voice shook with each utterance, a frantic state very rare for the ice mage. As he noticed the dreadful look in her azure oculars, he inched closer, but at a very slow pace, trying not to scare her more than she currently was. He extended his arms outward, wiggling each digit as he made his approach as if he was trying to comfort a child who had lost their mother.
A blizzard-like water surrounded her, swirling in motions of circles as if her magic had gotten out of whack. She stood in the midst of it as inch-by-inch, from bottom-up, her body began to get sucked into the void. It felt as if the breath in her body began to get sucked out and she no longer had the ability to walk or even yell for help, only cry which in turn made matters much worse. A pleading glance was given as she looked down at her hands then back at him, doing this process many times like a broken record stuck in loop. It felt like hell, knowing no matter what he did or how much talking he did to calm her down wasn’t even working in the slightest. She was terrified, and he was useless.
Each plea escaping her lips was cut off by a shrill, which was brought on by the numbness, or absence, of another body part. As her screams got louder, Lyon pushed harder against the current. His body felt stiff, weak, and almost as if he’d get sucked in with her if he wasn’t careful, but that didn’t really matter to him if it did or not, as long as she was safe. He couldn’t quite grasp what was causing the outburst, maybe something set her off to extreme depression, enough to bring rain, but with a magic exhausting twist that made her water body seem like a curse.
"Juvia— It’ll be okay, I’m almost there!" He shouted, rain soaking his white locks down to stick to the side of his face. Keeping his composure was difficult, near impossible, but saving her was priority over his own ego. As he finally neared her, extending out his hand for digits to yearn for her own, she took his hand despite the fear and agony. She held on so tight it would surely break skin.
Juvia pulled on with all the strength left in her body, having him firmly snake his arms around her thin waist, pulling her closely with her head on his shoulder. “L-Lyon-sama… Juvia is scared.”
"I’m here… There is nothing to fear," More encouraging words were about to follow, but the dissipating waist set off an alarm, furrowing his eyebrows in confusion. His hands slowly ran through her lower half, smacking himself in the stomach from the force he held on so tightly to her with. As he noticed, she caught on too, sobbing much harder. "Shhh, please don’t cry. What’s wrong? Talk to me, Juvia, please."
"J-Juvia is sorry… Lyon-sama was trying to hold onto Juvia… but she… she is leaving and she is scared and she wants Lyon-sama to keep holding onto her! P-Please promise Juvia! Promise Juvia that Lyon-sama won’t let go…"
A tear conveniently rolled down his cheek for Juvia to act on impulse and cup his cheeks tenderly. Her forehead frantically touched his, Lyon easing into it as if it was a calling to embrace her each and every minute of each and every day. As the rain continued, the tear mixed in with it to forever disappear in the currents. It was no longer safe to assume she’d make it, Lyon thinking this way brought him to tears, not sobbing, more hidden and conserved, but enough to have Juvia trying to wipe each away in a panic.
"No promises… Juvia is silly, huh? Juvia didn’t know this could happen. Juvia’s always been a curse, yes? Juvia didn’t want to bring Lyon-sama into this… Lyon-sama deserves better… deserved better. Lyon-sama will get that now." One word left her mouth made another tear fall from both, as if unison. Her entire body from shoulders down was gone somewhere in the storm, no longer able to be retrieved. Her eyes lovingly gazed into his as she brought her lips to his own with infinite tenderness. There was no hesitation on her end, but much from his. He knew what this meant and didn’t want to leave off like this. He didn’t want to let her leave in general. Juvia let the bitter taste of his lips linger on hers for awhile, before biting her lower lip to gently plant a kiss on his forehead. "Juvia loves Lyon-sama."
