ok besties i finally watched the SERIES FINALE (!!!! !) of Monk and here's my preliminary thoughts:

Randy always gave me these sad puppy vibes so it makes me so so so happy to see him happy and succeeding in a place where he won't be as overlooked

along those lines: THRILLED that Randy and Sharona got their happily ever after like omgggg

like im so happy that even after she left the series Sharona was mentioned throughout and she was like a part of everything still

the daughter/stepdaughter thing threw me for a loop but i can fuck with it

love the idea arising of trudy not being the idealized version of herself that monk creates after she dies and, truthfully, while she was alive too. like the finale really turned her into a real person for me and probably a lot of other people

stottlemeyer's goodbye to randy in the squadroom was so sweet im screaming and eating drywall over here

love that part of it is "business as usual" like monk is still a consultant and natalie is still his assistant and leland is still the captain, but everybody's a little happier now

stottlemonk could still happen for me, i still gotta see the covid era movie dot dot dot im not giving up hope yet!

so yeah! v happy with all this and now ima need a new daytime television show to watch with mmy mealtimes :)
