i called my mom last night because i had told her i would and one of her biggest criticisms is that i don't do what i say i'm gonna do. i was at corinne's, and sat on the steps so i could make a quick goodnight call. my mom took a lot of issue with this, telling me how my priorities are all fucked up and i'm selfish and that i make it so that every time we speak it has to be unpleasant. she talked about how she spent her whole day doing things for me and that it sucks that she cares more than i do (mostly about the research trip).

call ended badly, especially because i tried to tell her why it's fucked up that she's mad at me for how much time she's spending on my thesis research trip preparations when 1) she's said snottily many times "if you want my help come to me" (because i've "shunned" her so many times) and 2) BECAUSE I DIDN'T ASK FOR HER HELP.

i hung up and she started texting me. one of them was just a :(. one said "you're abusing me". one was a list of adjectives about my selfishness and a </3 to indicate her broken heart.

yesterday, i got an email from a booking site saying i had reservations at places i need to stay in tahiti (which she made). one portion of that is two nights on another island that she was treating me to for my birthday. this morning i got an email saying my reservation there was cancelled. what the fuck is she doing. i'm very tempted to withdraw as much from the shared bank account as i'll need to complete the trip, because considering she's acting this way WITHOUT even seeing my hair i'm p worried about her jeopardizing my academic success.
