Treadmill 5k
Noticed today the treadmill at the gym has a 5k program. .. quick 30 minute run followed by four wind sprints. Starting a new training program Monday as long as the doc clears my hip on Monday morning. Doing ok today so far. Fingers crossed!!
Hip check
My right hip still hurts from my birthday. It is aggravated every time I go outside into the cold. It was so cold this weekend I didn't get out for a run. Partly because I don't have warm enough gear and partly because my hip hurts so much. I've never had a problem or pain like this before. Don't really know what to do about it either. Stinks. I did find a 5k for Thanksgiving morning but I don't know if I can run it with my hip hurting. I'm not a wimp but I don't normally have pain so I know it's a sign of a problem and I don't want to make it worse. Maybe call a chiropractor?
Not a Typical Tuesday
I had the best workout on Tuesday. 45 minutes on the spin bike followed by a quick 2 mile run, 100 squats and abs. I've been running so slow lately that it felt good to actually move. I kept upping the speed landing finally at a 9:40 pace which is pretty decent for me to maintain and I actually felt I could go faster. I realized that it might be really good for me to do some speed drills this winter on the treadmill since I'm destined to spend so much time running indoors. Might as well make some good come of it! I am determined to keep a routine going even while company is here for the holidays. I will have to do my workouts early so I'm free to enjoy the visit the rest of the day. Make a plan and live purposely.
Monday
Today was a classic Monday. Tried to go out for a run but between my headphones gone missing and the rain which started as soon as I left my house, I didn't make it. I ended up doing 3 miles on the treadmill at the gym instead. I decided I don't like working out in the evening nearly as well as doing it in the morning. It's much better to have the feeling of accomplishment all day rather than the feeling of procrastination. Also running on treadmills stinks. I forgot how much I just stare at the distance and time and it seems to take forever. It's much easier to distract your mind outside and let time go by.
On another note, was doing the boring task of folding laundry today when I saw a bald eagle soar past my living room window. I just love that!
