Internet (and technology) had really changed our lives. Everything became instant and easily accessible. Where to find this restaurant? Google! Looking for someone? There's Facebook! Ideas for parties? Pinterest! Any news? Twitter! See, almost everything is online now.
I will deny how valuable Internet is in my life. I mean I get to connect with my relatives and friends here and abroad through it and all. I have started using it since it was introduced to me when I was in grade school. And I've learned to blog since Friendster days.
From being an outlet of my emotional rants and angst, blogging had fairly been part of my daily life. I wrote about my life, my frustrations and everything that I could think of. Even my "literary" pieces were published online. But, but...I haven't shared my blogs for everyone to read. I mean, I am comforted with the fact that in the vast internet universe, there's a tiny space for me and my thoughts that not everybody could read. May privacy pa din kumbaga.
But in this day and age, blogging became much more than an outlet of emotions and thoughts. It has become an influential platform to entertain and inform people. And I really am not complaining.
I learn more things through reading blogs. I get new ideas and how to's in life. I get inspired. I get motivated. And so this year, I have promised myself to be more productive and active. I tend to be lazy when it comes to writing. I have ideas, I have pegs, I have this desire to take action but somewhere along the way I became like, "Oh, pwede naman sa susunod na lang." And it's becoming an excuse I would not want to make again!
Me: I want to blog about this and that and that...
Me: Ay, I lost my inspiration to write it! Maybe next time?
It's one thing to think about it and it's another to do it!
I have so many things I want to accomplish. And I decided that this year, my goal is to be productive. How? Simple. Do whatever you can do. By that I mean, find something you're actually comfortable in doing it and from that you'll gain something.
Gaining. That's my aim...that's my goal. Gaining everything beneficial and important to me. Again, how? By giving. Giving what you could do and exploring it to make it flourish and abundant so that you could share. Sharing. I would like to gain by giving and sharing. Which I guess is a win-win thing.
I love writing and I have a blog. That's my starting point. That's where I'm comfortable. So that's where I should start and focus to achieve my goal.
I have read many write ups about making your blog a productive, profitable one. And I regret in making this choice so late than I should have. But since I am new to this, and I want to flourish this, I am now focusing on it. To learn more.
A productive blog. To monetize my blog. To achieve my goals.
Now this would be the hardest part. I now know what I want. And now I'm taking steps on how to become more knowledgeable about it to be a credible one. I know I am yet far from being a Patty Laurel but I am proud of myself for putting myself out there to try this and learn more from this.
And I pray to sustain it. Well, I know I will.
So what to blog? Well, what else? My life! Me! My interests, travels, and everything I deem worth sharing. You have to do what you love right?
Be with me on this journey, eh?
P.S. I now need a decent laptop and camera!
