luke hadn't exactly been himself in a long time. this made it difficult to be them, so they had been at a crossroads for nearly a year. separated, sure, but the admission came as a shock still. " great. " he said gruffly. " i guess congratulations are in order for you then? " he added, voice filled with spite.

"i guess..." she said, looking at the man she'd adored for so long. the man who now seemed a stranger. "i haven't... i don't have another place yet but i'm pretty sure you don't want me to stick around." she told him even though she hoped she could. she didn't really know where to go from here.

monroe was glad that her husband didn't take this opportunity to stir up trouble. she didn't quite know what to make of him grabbing her hand and hoped that it meant he wasn't all mean and apathetic as he... well, very much appeared to be. she gripped his hand and nodded. "that we do... this has been quite intense for all of us." she told her family and nodded at her father and siblings. "i'll be alright." she assured them and then looked back over at her new partner. "did you get the address of the house from the officiant, or shall i go ask?" she wondered, not even sure where they'd need to drive towards, how far it was, whether it was even the kind of house she'd want to live in. from now all, her private life was filled in by the state. her home, her partner... it was all chosen for her.

"i had a fling with someone. i met them in a queer bar. their name is rock... more than that, i don't know..." monroe told antonio, looking quite ashamed. she loved him, but her desire to explore herself and her attractions had led her down... questionable paths. paths that had now led her to probably having to move back to the ranch she'd desperately tried to escape... "i... i'm thirteen weeks. i'm... keeping it." she told him, "but... i don't have anywhere to go right now." she explained, being quite sure that antonio would kick her out.

monroe was so relieved to see a woman standing next to her. she was bisexual, but she found it much easier to feel romantically attracted to women - generally speaking. she looked at her, finding her devilishly... handsome and pretty at the same time in that suit... it made her pretty happy, really. maybe this arrangement wasn't the curse she had thought it would be. she was sure the other woman was a little older than her, and considering she also found that attractive... she was, all in all, starting to believe in these dna tests. she swooned when she was winked at and gave a bit of a dopey smile to the other woman as a blush accompanied her expression. maybe this really would be a good match.

she then listened to the officiant and repeated her vows: "i, monroe baxter, take you, hannah crawford, to be my wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, until parted by death." she told her and also answered on the next question "i do," making her committed for life to this woman she had never met before.

ime took monroe's hand and looked at their friend... their friend who basically lived in their house, had slept in there bed more than once, whom they both called when things were rough. that kind of friend. the friend they were both sort of in love with. "roe and i have been talking," ime started and licked her lips nervously, "and we've... been quite open and honest with each other that we... have developed feelings... for you. the both of us." she revealed and felt her heart race. this could go wrong in so many ways.

monroe was also shifting in her seat and blushing deeply. that always happened to her when she got stressed. "and it's okay if you don't feel that way for us, and that you possibly find it weird. we just wanted to be honest with you, as we always are." she offered.

"wait," monroe said and looked over at her father, the leader of the new york city mafia, "you're... having me marry a woman?" monroe asked. sure, she'd agreed to marry to merge mobs and for her family to become more powerful but she had thought she'd be matched to a man - not a woman. not her. she knew her. she had fantasized about her. she had a... crush on her but that was something she only acknowledged in the dark. now she'd be in a lesbian marriage? she had nowhere to hide anymore now! her father simply shrugged. "the boss had no sons unmarried. i always figured you wouldn't mind." he said and her jaw dropped before she turned towards the other woman. "i am not gay." she insisted. she hated that her father snorted at that.

something in his kiss felt... kind of hurtful. he couldn't even bring himself to peck her on the lips? it was so odd, a kiss she'd been dreading had now only half happened and she was offended. she was all over the place she realized, which was probably because she had barely slept and had, very quietly, hoped that there'd be some instant connection or a vibe. instead, she was here with someone who was not at all her type... and that looked very unfriendly on top of that.

his first words to her were harsh and it made her swallow hard. "we hadn't planned anything. i... i didn't want that, right after. so, uhm... no." she answered and looked at her father, who looked as if he was about to go get his gun and threaten her brand new husband to not speak to his baby girl like that... but was clearly trying to keep it together in front of the officiant. "we can just go to our house, i guess." she spoke, not sure if she really wanted to go home with this man but she figured that maybe some privacy would do them well. maybe.

"yeah, we'd love to see y'alls place as well;" she heard her older brother say and she then noticed all three of her siblings looked very angry and protective. great - now her family was ready to go all redneck. that wasn't going to be pretty. "you can see it tomorrow, alright?" she spoke, trying to calm them somewhat.
