Hello everyone,

I’m sure it will come as a surprise to nobody but, given the quietness of the dash and the OOC blog, and the lack of questions on the Main, the group has ground to a halt. I put a lot of time and effort into promoting this group, making graphics, and trying to make members feel welcome and relaxed. But, perhaps due to when it opened, or perhaps due to something I did, or something else entirely, it seems to have fizzled to an unfortunate stop. For now, MonstrousHQ will go on hiatus for the time being, until further notice. Personal commitments, study, and the general busyness of life mean that I don’t have the motivation or inclination to try to revive it at the moment. Thank you to everyone who joined, wrote, and created for this group, for the very brief time it existed. I may come back to it when I have more time. All the best to you all. Sophie

Hello everyone! Apologies for the quiet over the past few days -- work and personal engagements had me very busy. Given the rather long unfollow list I just posted, and the slow activity on the dash lately, I am going to be posting this as an official interest check.

I always wanted any group I ran to be relaxed and welcoming, given how busy people’s personal lives are. The activity requirement is posting at least once a week, in character, or else asking for a semi-hiatus (during which you can post once a week, or more, but it’s not required) or a full hiatus, (during which there is no expectation to post). People may ask for hiatuses or semi-hiatuses lasting as long as they would like, but the thing there is that they have to be asked for, or I won’t know! I realise that we have a lovely, friendly, group of writers here, who love this plot and want to write together, but with how busy I am at work and with my Masters, I want to make sure there is a real request for this group to keep running. If you’re still interested in sticking around, feel free to give this post a “like”. If you have any ideas for how this group might be better run, reach out to me via I.M.’s. I’m always open to suggestions!

Just a small announcement to remind everyone that there’s going to be an activity check tomorrow. I’ve always liked to keep activity quite lax, so people can fit roleplaying into their every day, busy, lives, and the activity requirement for this group is only that you post once a week on each character. If you’re on semi-hiatus, you can post once a week, but there’s no expectation for you to do so, and if you’re on full hiatus, there’s no expectation that you post at all for the duration of your hiatus. If you need a semi-hiatus, or a full hiatus, please reach out to the Main, otherwise, you’ll be on the activity check tomorrow!

Just a reminder to members that it would be great to see some wanted connections sent in! The application is here, and if you have any ideas for friends, family, or even enemies of your muses, faceclaims you’d like to see, or plots you want to happen, you can include those in the application! Some people prefer to start in a group by filling a wanted connection, so do please send them in.

With the start of the new year, the Christmas market and fair event is now officially over! Please feel free to continue any threads set during the event, but now you can post any open or closed starters set outside of the event too! I hope this will give people more of a chance to plot outside the event, and start new threads set anywhere around London. If you need ideas for open starter settings, please check out the locations page here!

I was considering doing a New Year’s event, but decided against it, because following one event with another just seemed like too many events in a row. But it’s now officially 1900 on the dash! The start of a new year, and a new century. The blog’s title has been changed to reflect this, and the timeline has also been updated. Characters may of course refer to the new year in new threads if you wish them to, or they can simply go about their business if it’s not that big a deal to them.

Other small edits have been made to the Main (such as fixing a glaring typo in the app page, and subsequently on the taken characters page, fixing small bullet point issues on the taken characters page, and updating the wanted connections page!) and everything should be up to date and correct now. If you spot any errors on any pages, do let me know! Let’s start off this new year as we mean to go on. Happy writing everyone!

It’s now officially 2022 in the UK, so happy New Year’s everyone! Thank you to all our members for making this such a lovely and welcoming place to be. Thank you for all your creativity, friendliness, support, and dedication at this time of year. Launching an RP in the middle of the holiday season was a risky move, and I’m so glad it paid off to give us such a relaxed and dedicated group. Here’s to more fun in 2022!

This is a very gentle reminder that proper activity checks start tomorrow! I know everyone is very busy at this time of year, and people are plotting together and have starters planned, which is all very exciting, so activity expectations are going to be very lenient for this period. But I do encourage those people who haven’t made a single in character post yet to really try to get something out before tomorrow night!

The minimum activity expectation is just one in character post every week. If you need a semi-hiatus, or a hiatus (I’ve always found those rather vague terms, but basically, in this group, a semi-hiatus is a period of time where you might get one or two posts out a week, but you don’t have to, and a hiatus is that there’s no expectation of activity for the period of the hiatus!) then please just let me know, and it will be granted for however long you need it for.

We have such an excellent, dedicated, and friendly bunch of writers here, and it would be great to get things started with earnest! This is by no means an Official Warning Post, as I don’t like to run groups with the threat of activity checks and unfollow warnings hanging over member’s heads. I’m very aware that this is a busy time of year, and people are plotting and planning things behind the scenes. This is just a gentle reminder! If you don’t think you’ll be able to post by tomorrow night, feel free to I.M. and let me know, and you’ll be left off the check. Basically, I just want to touch base with those we haven’t heard from in character.
