High as a kite and having the time of his life, Brody had decided that this Summer Solstice fair event thing was his kind of gig. He had blue, glittery butterfly wings painted across both his cheekbones courtesy of the face painting booth, a balloon ladybug tied around his wrist, and a bag of cotton candy that was too sweet on his tongue. The lights were pretty, the music was loud, the crowd was having good old fashioned fun and even if it would have been better if Sam or his new friend Osun could have cut away from their respective duties, he was still having a good time.
One of the game booths had caught his half-lidded, hazy gaze, because there was a stuffed pink cat up there that he thought Milo would adore. Determined to get the thing for him, he shoved his hand into his front pocket to find what was left of the cash he’d brought with him, his wallet still missing, and found he didn’t have enough for the game. A loud sigh escaped him, but there was an ATM near where he’d come into the festival grounds and he turned to head back out that way, walking slow and sloppy and he almost didn’t see the man as he started to pass him by.
It was the flower crown that caught his eye first, before he realized who it belonged to and immediately a grin shot across his face. “Monty,” he urged, arm wrapping around the man’s, before his hazy mind caught up with it and he corrected himself, even if his arm didn’t leave Monty’s. “I mean, Dr. Lacroix.”
Something smoother crosses his face, like he’s just happy to see Monty, forgetting about their surroundings for a moment. “Hi. Hello. I like your crown.” Then he gives the man’s arm a slight tug. “Come money shot this clown in the face for me so we can win Milo a pink girlfriend. I promise to tell him it’s from you,” he insists.
