I'm of the understanding Carrion is essentially a dragon plushie of a person. How do the Premonition blorbos react to his dragon hugs?
I may require a visual aid to understand
*cracks knuckles* WELL-
Let me first give a bit of context by clarifying that there's actually two separate versions of Carrion: the FFXIV "original" version and the Premonitions of a Faraway Life version (an AU, basically). There's a bit of overlap, naturally, but the biggest distinction is that I try to keep FFXIV!Carrion as lore-compliant as possible, while PoFL!Carrion is more sea-monster flavored in concept and has a way bigger personality.
Since you mentioned "the Premonitions blorbos", I'm gonna assume you meant the latter, in which case that's probably one of the most spot-on descriptions of this cretin you could've come up with XD
For most of his early sentience, Carrion was completely blind, which meant he developed an over-reliance on physical touch and hearing. Though the blindness gradually dissipated during his evolution(s), he's still incredibly clingy and doesn't like being left alone for extended periods.
He's also just an incredibly enthusiastic person in general; if he thinks highly of you, there will be zero room for doubt. Or your lungs, for that matter - it's difficult to properly brace against suddenly being wrapped into the world's happiest death grip.
Mortem, his master and vampiric sire, doesn't mind these sudden "attacks", despite having not fully adjusted to being handled so affectionately. He bears these trials patiently, though.
On the other hand, Brody is horribly distrustful of her "big brother" and has implanted multiple bite marks on his forearms from being hoisted into the air unexpectedly.
Everyone else on the island is primarily coworkers and friends, so while he does his fair share of hair-tousling and elbow-nudging with whoever he gets along with, he won't typically go all out if he doesn't know someone very well.
Plus, with Mortem being the only one in the current roster taller than him, it'd probably come off more as intimidating than friendly, yanno?
Thank you for the ask! I'm still trying to nail down his design completely, so have some bonus sketches of him just being his freakish little self (affectionate):
"My lord, with all due respect...I'm starting to think the god I used to worship no longer exists."
"Perhaps not. Or he could have simply ascended."
"I don't understand."
He smiled at me, cold and benevolent. "I've been made to realize that the dedication of mortals is not a thing to be sneered at. What's the harm in acknowledging such a concept?"
before i got my drawing tablet, i spent a lot of time making picrew images of the cast. here's a collection of some, primarily featuring Monty.
unfortunately, the bookmark folder of links i had for each of these was on my old iPad, which croaked before i could transfer them. hopefully i'll be able to recover them all eventually.
