i am genuinely so sick of watching people say frankie being non binary is handled poorly and then the only criticism brought to the table is: “well it’s cringey, no one introduces themselves like that” yeah maybe it’s because most people feel unsafe to do so. i am 22 years old and still feel extremely uncomfortable even in SEEMINGLY SAFE situations to introduce myself with my correct pronouns or talk about my non binary experience in any capacity that isn’t in an environment filled with other queer individuals. at every job i’ve ever had i’ve lied about my identity, used she/her even though i KNOW its not me. watching a character state it SO MATTER A FACT, so point blank and unafraid means literally the world to me. and absolutely no room for misconstruction of identity if you want to have legitimate criticisms about the pronouns use through out the movie (or lack thereof) fine but CRINGE? i don’t really have the patience to hear it. frankie stein had the balls to do what i never could, and i cant even begin to explain how incredible that makes me feel
