James had kissed many people for stupid reasons. Kissing his friend because his girlfriend dumped him for no reason was not at the top of that very long list but he was starting to think it should be. Or maybe Remus should be on the very short of list of people he should have kissed sooner.
He'd think about it when Remus' hand wasn't up his shirt and his other dangerously close to his dick. Or when he wasn't practically hanging off of Remus as he treated him like a piece of meat. There was something James enjoyed about being desired.
Admittedly they'd chosen a pretty bad spot to get touchy in, it was barely even shaded. Then again it had only started as a kiss to get Lily and Sirius to back off. Sirius because Remus had never truly forgiven him for the prank two years back and they couldn't go back to how things had been but Sirius always got flirty at parties and Remus just couldn't handle it. Lily because she kept trying to apologise for breaking up with James without giving him a reason at all.
"Oi!" Peter shouted at them. James pulled back and grinned at Peter over Remus' shoulder. "You two can stop now, they're both moping in the corner." Remus snorted even as he kept groping James.
"Or we could take this to the heads dorm," James said. Remus hummed. Lily had stopped sleeping in there after she'd left James, leaving it all to him. Though he did sleep in the old dorm room too some nights.
"Privacy sounds good," Remus agreed. Peter sighed but shrugged. He pulled his hand out of James shirt, but instead of backing away he kissed James once more. He wasn't complaining, more the opposite really. Remus pulled back that time, and James was happy to drop his arms from Remus. He grabbed onto one of James' wrists and lead him out of the party. Lily and Sirius both watched them go, Sirius with jealousy and Lily a little bit of regret.
A one night stand with your best friend probably wasn't a good idea. Or maybe a one night stand with one of your long time crushes wasn't a good idea. James could think about that when he wasn't laying in bed naked next to an asleep Remus.
How would we all feel about making moonchaser week a twice a year thing? like roughly every six months, so the next one would be somewhere around October or November

Moonchaser Week 2024
Day 1 Prompt: Getting Together Summary: Remus pining for James, his unrequited love turning out to be requited, a kiss, implied one-sided Sirius/James, very very brief mention of one-sided James/Lily.
This is my first published actual fic in... a while, and it's Moonchaser, which is somehow even more of a rarepair than Prongsfoot, not to mention it was hastily edited due to time constraints so there may be wild typos ahead, but... Here we are!
