Injury was unfortunately part of the job. Some of them were more dangerous than others - but fortunately this one was practically a scratch, compared to those.

She sat on the beach, The Cataclysm in close view and anchored, her own rowboat that would take her to it eventually beached beside her. Other pirates might not be so bold, but Karen had been doing this for far too long with far too big a reputation to be too terribly afraid.

She wrapped her arm slowly in bandages, a few other medical supplies in her lap. She’d already disinfected the graze of the blade. It wasn’t large enough of a wound to be sutured, at least.

Sand stirred behind her, and she huffed. “You might as well go ahead and come up and let me see your face, y’know.”
