Can you tell us a bit about your patron story world?
So for a long while, I had an idea of making a world where It was perpetually dark. Where the moon (or equivalent) was the brightest light that most people would experience outside of fires. Monsters and beasts lurk in the deeper darkness and traveling or trading information are dangerous but necessary profession, so being a messenger is risky but highly regarded.
I still wanted things to be able to grow despite the darkness so I decided that the world's sun "broke" and the pieces were spread around the world, keeping parts of the world warm despite the darkness. The magic that's keeping them lit is handed down thru family lines, which have become the royals and nobility of this world. And there's currently a succession crisis that's being hidden from the population because the current monarch's only son is rumored to be dead.
