The second day of re-introduction, if you've followed me for a while, you might be familiar with this character, who went through a major redesign and rewrite last year, "Fork".

He's a major character in one of my original works , a military-horror story called "Outsider," which I'll get into with more details later.

Fork , a native of Dhoergland, who was just promoted to major general and granted the title of "Executioner," meaning that the government, due to the paranoia and panic running wild through the territory after several massacres which were attributed to the enemy, has authorized him and other generals to kill without trial anyone they believe to be a suspect of treason or a threat to the motherland, no matter the situation or status of the person.

Acting as judge, jury and as previously stated executioner.

Allegedly, a burn suffered in battle during a catastrophic campaign he participated in years prior resulted in the large scar on his face. He has no trouble displaying it in public and makes no attempt to disguise it, saying it makes him look more intimidating which helps when he wants people to listen to him.

He plays the role of mentor and guide to the protagonist, Oshin, a younger fellow who joined the army under Fork's care, and will be sheperded by him into the cruel battlefield in the midst of war.

Oshin doesn't know the real motives for the general to look after him, or why he's so insistent on having him by his side, from time to time Fork says something about a "promise" he made...But that seems... Odd

The general might be hiding secrets...And has something more sinister going on...

Dhoergland isn't a normal place...And this is no normal war...

Third day of re-introduction

Another of the main characters of my story "Outsider"

Rhoea, a Dhergish sniper currently active in the war against Gnéithe, she is renowned for her work as a military sniper, with one of the highest kill counts up her sleeve, having killed an estimated 400 soldiers in less than 100 days in her service during Operation Birch Root, a military operation that aimed to raid on Gnéithan positions and invade enemy territory, proving largely successful thanks to the sudden winter, for which the Gnéithan army was unprepared.

Quite recently, there has been a popular tale that she is General Fork's most "faithful hound", and due to kin ties. It seems they may be right; however, Rhoea has never stated her opinion on these comparisons.

 

 

She is Fork's half-sister on her father's side, with whom she does not share a surname due to the family drama this would entail as an illegitimate child.

Rhoea usually seems intimidating and fulfills most people's expectations of the unemotional and cold-blooded sniper they've heard about, but this may just be a facade to disguise her discomfort in social situations, this said by her own brother.

Rhoea has not objected to her brother's decision to take a complete stranger (Oshin) under his care, but you could see in her face that she does not think it is a good idea, and is also unaware of the reasons behind this decision.

She will be a comrade to Oshin, but one that, although they share a certain physical closeness by being in the same places and situations from time to time, remains distant emotionally; however, they grow accustomed to each other, even bonding due to the adversities they're both subjected to because of the larger conflict...And the weird things that have started to happen on the battlefield.

They try to find comfort on each other.

Because tales about justice are useless when you're on the eye of the storm.

Fourth day of re-introduction(Delayed due to silly reasons)

Outsider's protagonist and the main subject to the horrors.

Oshin is a rookie Dhergish soldier who joined the army under the care of General Bloodroot after being promised a better quality of life for him and his mother, who have financial issues due to the natural disaster that struck the area they lived in, Oshin couldn't stand this situation any longer so he left his mother behind to follow the same path his father took years prior.

He was originally brought up near Gnéithe's northern border, so he had previous run-ins with a few Gnéithans, affecting his opinion on the current conflict between the two countries, creating an inner conflict between what he has been taught, and what he witnessed firsthand.

 

 

Specialized in close combat and accustomed to the use of melee weapons as a sidearm in cases of self-defense, despite being a novice, Oshin has demonstrated his capability as a combatant.

In addition, thanks to his exceptional above-average height, he tends to attract attention to himself outside of combat situations, but in reality, he is somewhat reserved despite his apparent easy-going attitude—a kind of awkward gentle giant, we could say, often lacking spatial awareness and slouching when nervous.

Even with his misgivings about Fork, he sees him as something akin to a mentor or father figure, because Fork has helped him navigate the unfamiliar environment of the military, but because of the "not-so-big" age gap, their personalities and ways of thinking can sometimes clash a little, with Fork often being the one to start it.

He has a generally positive opinion of Rhoea, even though they keep a certain distance, and he has heard some rumors about her. Oshin is fond of her company, which is a rare treat, perhaps because of a sense of camaraderie. Though he feels it may be more than just that, adversity brought them together, but he wishes for more than just the situation forcing the sudden moments of closeness.

He gets a bit scared by the constant staring of both of them though.

What a weird pair of siblings he has to deal with.

Let's just hope the chimeras he was fed by everyone don't turn out to be his downfall
