I don’t quite get what was so terrible about what they were saying. Like….they were expressing opinions on not liking or believing certain things about a fictional work and joking around within a private group, no?

It’s all very vague to someone who wasn’t around for it. Just seems like some of what they said was in poor taste or out of naivety. I don’t see where the bullying was? Maybe because it’s just too out of context though? I don’t know.

Yes this fandom is super supportive but I don’t think it means we’re all perfectly queer coded or need to be.

I really don’t understand the hate for the Crowleys vagina fic being a no go, screenshot. I agree. I won’t read fics where they’re female presenting because I’m just not that into it. Can I not express that without being labeled transphobic? Honestly? Because I don’t know just how delicate I have to be here sometimes.

1. That “private group” was just a private discord server that had join invites readily available in multiple places, including public socmed profiles and AO3 notes. In fact, that “private group” regularly sought out other creators to join with the express intention of attacking that targeted creator with a barrage of bullying because that creator made things they didn’t like.

2. Congrats on picking the least concerning of the screenshots I shared to make your “actually that doesn’t seem that bad” point. It wouldn’t be bad if that was all it was, but there is a clear pattern, even when looking just at what I shared. Like I said, there are far more. I have them all saved somewhere and I may dig them up eventually.

Hey just a reminder since Moonyinpisces seems to be back to posting as if nothing happened and Zoey (Zaay-zaay/vavoom-sorted) is coming out strong with supporting her, both of these individuals were involved in an organized fandom bullying ring on Moony’s discord server where they organized targeted attacks against other creators, primarily those who created works with trans depictions, ace depictions, and depictions of kinks they didn’t approve of. They’ve also attacked creators for being ace themselves.

I for one do not recommend supporting them. Our fandom is by far the most positive fandom I’ve ever been in, and there is no place for mean girls style bullying here.

I’ve included a handful of receipts I had handy, but there are far more if you search for them on various social media sites. I would dig them up myself, but I’ve already spent way too many spoons on this nonsense.

I figured I might as well use this time/mood to get caught up on the drama that happened recently in my other fandom (Good Omens, the whole moonyinpisces thing) because I didn't really follow it while it was going down. And ngl that whole thing is another reason (besides the general "the UI makes my brain itch" reason) why I stay off discord. It's obviously not just a discord thing; I've seen it happen in many other settings including way back in the day when you used to have to set up your own dedicated Proboards or something to create a dedicated fandom space. It's not even just a fandom thing either tbh!

I like what I have going here. Tumblr is just engaging enough to keep me here but not so much I forget to touch grass. You'll never learn my real name or what I do for a living, but we can still talk about feelings and shit. I understand that lots of people make lots of really good friends in fandom because that's something I've done before too. There are people I've met through fandom who I still talk to nearly every day, more than I talk to some members of my family. But these days I like the distance tumblr has allowed for, and I see that as a feature instead of a bug. It's just what works for me.
