Unless I research something that says otherwise, her closest relationships are her neighbors Veracruz and Oaxaca 😎 She has beef with her sister CDMX because she considers her pretty incompetent for the capital of the country 😔 Regarding Veneziano, their romance stems from Italian immigration to Puebla, more specifically the town of Chipilo ( who also exists as a character and it's kind of Itapuebla's son). This town was founded in the 1880s and consisted of Italian workers brought over by a deal with the Mexican and Italian governments. While there were other towns like this one, Chipilo didn't lose their Italian identity all the way. Situation so interesting that the town created a whole new form of Venetian Italian that is only spoken there.

Anyway, Puebla and Veneziano met during the plans to create Chipilo and fell for each other. However, Veneziano had to return to Italy and Puebla decided to break it off to avoid political scandals. She refuses to date anyone ever again after that (not quite historically accurate but there)
