I never counted, but I shoved lots of hearts into this piece. I thought it fit "Romance" y'know? It was a bit on the nose, but it was fun.

I'm gonna be honest, I struggled a lot with the rendering of this piece. I went through a lot of variations before landing on this more painterly style, which I'm quite happy with! The idea of using a dark blue sketch and bright magenta background was taken from –> Alyses.art on Tiktok (please go check her out!).

Now, onto some design notes!

Really, I didn't change much. I only pushed the already cat-like features for Kitty! I added some cat-like markings onto her and a facial crest (I normally add facial crests onto fantastical characters.) I couldn't help myself giving them claws and paw pads on their hands! He also has a cleft lip that's meant to emanate a cat's mouth.

While not seen, I gave Kitty hetrochromia, one of her eyes is turquoise, while the other is green. Also not seen is his back being covered in scars (stupidly long scarf is not good for getting away…)
