It’s ‘Drawing Week’ with the ED2 and FAD Students after the busy assessments last week. All staff and students trying new things and experimenting. Last UCAS applications off this week and most students already preparing and uploading digital portfolios and arranging university interviews.

My belated entry to Sketchback/Inktober! @slowburnstudio hosted this one a while ago, with the theme 'friends and lovers'. Sketchback was started by @tayenkim. Pictured here is my beautiful darling @kimiferjenkins, who is my best friend and lover. Perfect how that aligned ;) This was done with a quill nib, my first serious drawing with one. It's fun, a lot to learn! Added the washes by brush. Many mistakes, a lot to learn but I'm happy with it. Went beyond my usual simple shading and wanted to sharpen contrasts. I've Fallen way behind in Inktober but I'm keeping going no matter what. I'm into November at this point, heh. In falling behind this far, (don't count) I forgot the very spirit of Inktober: one daily drawing. I like to have finished pieces in which I push myself but I got dejected by my overloaded work schedule and exhaustion and forgot my mantra: Finished not perfect. That truly is what it's all about. It's great if you can do something awesome every day, I see plenty people do it, but if not, remember that it's supposed to be FUN. Maybe do a smaller drawing. Just draw something. That is my commitment from now on.
