“YOU STUPID FUCKING BITCH!” she screams. The sounds echo back through the silent cave, and so does the sound her body thudding against the rock. All the creatures watch in a horrified, familiar silence as their queen throws herself against the wall of her study. Her right arm slams against the surface and she falls to her knees.

All her pets stand and watch. They have no power to make her stop. They’re not allowed. If they try, it will just make it worse.

The girl sobs a bit, grabbing the wall to steady herself. “You- you’re a piece of human trash. How could you let this happen? To the people you love most? You fucking waste of oxygen…”

“What- what’s WRONG with you?” She takes a few steps back before thrusting herself back at the surface, the crystals jabbing her in the back, but not enough to penetrate the skin.

She leans against the wall, her back bruised as much as her arms and legs. Morgan repeatedly mutters hateful reprimands to herself, black hair covering her face. “I h-hate you. Y-You dumb f-fu-fucking bitch.”

Her gaze rises to a large mirror across from her. She looks at herself, pathetically curled into a ball, her arms purple from her self attack.

Morgan rises to her feet once again, trembling from the pain, but it’s still not enough. “You- you don’t deserve to be as peaceful as you are. How dare you have the audacity to look at yourself in the mirror and believe you’re a good person?...”

She approaches the mirror, her weak hands shaking as she raises a fist, staring at the pitiful form before her.

The glass shatters as her hand meets it. Shards of glass rain down in front of her, meeting her on the ground. Her eyes darken and she grabs one of the larger pieces of the glass, firmly grasping it. “Stupid stupis stupid…”

Crimson liquid spills from the queen’s wrist and drips down her arm, wrapping around and slowly pooling on the floor. She dares not look, staring at the floor next to it. She’s empty shell of the leader she poses as. The large piece of reddened glass returns to the floor, shattering into smaller pieces.

Someone finally intervenes, tearing the glass from her hand. Her spirit returns to her, and she looks up in fear.

Romeo is holding both her hands, mortified. Morgan looks over his face. God, she feels awful.

The queen puts on the biggest smile she can, acting as though her face is not red and tear-stained. “Sh-shakespeare! Why- why are you- here?” she asks.

He looks at her face. Smiling. That’s how she always looks. Everyday, it’s that exact smile he sees on her when she walks in. He runs his hands over the self-inflicted bruises, stopping at the open wound on her forearm. She winces. It hurts, but she has decided that pain is her punishment.

‘How could I go this far? I never- I never draw blood. How did I even get to the glass? And while he was watching? How could I let this happen? Morgan, you dumb bitch. You’re still as stupid as you were 6 years ago. He’s gonna to feel bad for you now and make himself worried about your pathetic ass, and it’s all because you were so fucking selfish.’

After a few moments of silence, she falls onto him, wearily resting her head on his shoulder. He feels his coat begin to soak up her tears as she pleads with him, “Don’t- don’t t-tell Streber and H-Harmoni. P-pl-please… It’ll kill them… I c- I can’t let them find out…”

He should. He really should. But she’s right. Not only would it kill her siblings, but her too.

He remains completely silent as he sets her on a chair and begins rummaging through her desk. Matcha walks over, nudging him a bit so he’ll step out of the way. They pull out a roll of bandages from the bottom drawer and place it in Romeo’s hands. He nods, “Thank you.”

Morgan stares at her arms, her burns painted in purple and red. Her vision of them is cut off when Romeo starts frantically covering the colors with white bandages, even on the arm that isn’t bleeding. She doesn’t protest. She can’t. It’d break him even more than this incident already has.

Romeo finishes wrapping the bandages. He sets the small roll down on the floor before pulling his friend into a tight hug, squeezing her until she can hardly breathe. More tears trickle down her face. He’s on the verge of tears, but manages to stay calm. Just so she doesn’t ridicule herself for his reaction. “Why did you do this?...”

“... I don’t know…” she whispers, her voice hoarse. It was a lie. Any real answer she gives will just make this worse.

She looks up from the floor and notices Nyx, who had arrived with Romeo, on the desk, with Ophelia and Camazotz putting a small bandaid on her wing. Their eyes meet, with Nyx giving her a look so understanding. More tears stream down the girl’s cheeks. She doesn’t deserve such grace.

“What the fuck did I do?...”

So about Nadia...what is her opinion on witches? As they are not "monsters" in the traditional sense.

Plus, I saw you mention one batqueen being interested in witchcraft. Aren't the queens technically witches sorta? As they are humans who received their powers by becoming the bat queen...meaning Nadia herself was a "witch". XD

she doesnt like witches. She wont go after them bit she definetly doesnt like them

ig theyre all TECHNICALLY witches but not in the typical way. the difference between all the other queens and queen evelina is that evelina used both her bat queen magic AND had all the spells and potions and bibbity bobbity boo. She put runes around the cave to prevent and potentially dangerous magic from working and she had a room full of spellbooks and potions and stuff. She even had the lil witch hat.
