MORITSUNE AND THE MATSUNOS PART 6: ANIKI (OSOMATSU)

and finally, the eldest and final son, osomatsu matsuno:

like ichimatsu, these two don’t have a lot to do with each other, but again, for the sake of the bit, i will entertain the idea.

osomatsu and moritsune have a LOT in common. they’re both the eldest children of their families, they’re both huge perverts, and being the oldest has given them huge complexes surrounding age and how cool or reliable one is to be perceived from being the oldest.

however, osomatsu is technically older by a little over a month (may 24th, moritsune was born on july 3rd). if he has a seniority complex with his identical sextuplet brothers, how do you think someone a month younger will survive? hair ruffling, teasing, asking which one of the sextuplets they have a crush on—so yeah, major smug older brother energy here. moritsune doesn’t know how to respond to being the youngest for once.

where they differ however is how they handle familials relationships and responsibilities. moritsune made a deliberate choice to cut his family off due to excessive stress around caring for other people, while osomatsu “pretends” to be all cool and collected but cares a lot despite never wanting to carry the load. he’s had it good and he doesn’t even realize it.

also, i like to think moritsune would actually go to him for advice exactly ONCE, and it’s to ask him about his relationship with his family and how he’s able to even function being part of a collective, leading to moritsune spilling the details on his own family and how he got to akatsuka ward in the first place. sure, it’d take a lot of beers, but they’ll get there.

MORITSUNE AND THE MATSUNOS PART 3: AGERU (KARAMATSU)

and now the second-born son, karamatsu matsuno:

hm. these two are… interesting. i have a lot written for them but at the same time, i’m not entirely sure how they’d realistically get from point a to b. you’re just gonna have to trust me here.

early on in their relationship, karamatsu and moritsune both see each other as “personal projects”. they’re both well-meaning people who want to do good things but ultimately have selfish reasons. perhaps moritsune asks karamatsu for advice on presentation or fashion, and he gets carried away.

karamatsu sees moritsune as someone insecure in their appearance and personality, and very soft spoken for an otaku. moritsune on the other hand sees karamatsu as someone to project his fantasies on. perhaps he’d get carried away too, giving karamatsu advice on how to be seen as attractive and not painful, until he’s no longer “karamatsu” anymore, and would need an intervention by the brothers.

there's one thing you need to understand, and it's that these two are the same breed. sure, their interests and styles may vary, but it’s the same formula of “cool, but only when they aren’t trying to be”. otherwise, they’re both complete idiots.

MORITSUNE AND THE MATSUNOS PART 5: ALLERGY (ICHIMATSU)

ahhh, ichimatsu. 11 year old me’s favorite little guy.

honestly, these two don’t actually interact much. moritsune’s kind of a homebody, and when either of them do go out, ichimatsu’s usually off hunting for stray cats in decrepit alleyways while moritsune’s wallet cries. i will, however, entertain the thought of them interacting for the sake of the bit.

one day, moritsune’s waiting for choromatsu to finish getting ready to head out (the dumbass overslept, no thanks to sharing a bed with 5 other dumbasses), meanwhile ichimatsu’s staying at home, and walks in on the friend of his second-least-favorite brother lounging against the wall.

so ichimatsu very clearly has autism, right? so, convinced he’s overstayed his accidental welcome and too late to back out, the poor guy looms in the opposite corner of the room, watching intently and staring not-so-suddenly at this guy’s Very Cute Hat. he’s starting to combust from trying to contain his interest.

after what feels like 10 hours (it was a minute and 30 seconds), moritsune finally bites and asks if he’s the one that likes cats. ichimatsu nods, and the two i’d imagine make pretty decent small talk.

the real kicker however is moritsune lamenting about how they’d appreciate cats more if they weren’t insanely allergic. ichimatsu apologizes profusely after getting cat dander in the air simply by being in the room. (osomatsu jokes that it’s his dark aura.)

also; ichimatsu does get his own knitted hat eventually!

denki mystery au moritsune…. poor little meow meow

moritsune’s name in this au is sakie ogami! their first name actually hasn’t changed, if you could believe it. transitioning is hard in this day and age, especially if you’ve forgotten everything about yourself!

the story i have written so far is that moritsune, in a dissociative fugue state following the death of someone close to them, wanders into akatsuka village. they’re in such bad shape that they can’t even remember their own last name, believing themself to be orphaned and without any other immediate family.

the ogami family takes them in and has them work at the family’s shrine for money and shelter. the only conditions are that they don’t leave the village.

they become close with toshio in this au, inevitable considering they share a home together. toshio’s kind of an oddball and gets sakie hooked on old legends and whatever crackpot theories he has, including the idea of him being one of six children.

irrelevant to that, however: after being trained in a religious setting for 4-5 years, sakie has gained the ability to “sense” spiritual energy (whether or not it’s actually legit is debatable), but gets very sick as a result. they’ve been recently having a series of vivid dreams, tall tales of a great black storm, and a night of spirits and yokai running amok…
