Which regions from Greek mythology could be levels in Hades? (02)
How Supergiant could explore other areas from Greek mythology? Now, this region from the Underworld could be in either the first or second games.
On the way into or out of the Underworld, Melinoë or Zagreus traverse Hypnos' cave near the River Lethe, at the edge of Hades' realm: a poppy-filled land sealed by two gates — one made of horn, and one of ivory — through which all the black-winged dream-spirits (Oneiroi) fly to the surface at night to influence mankind.

This biome is based on the cosmology of the Underworld in the Odyssey — in which it is said that there is a land of dreams (demos oneiroi) past the streams of the mythical River Oceanus and the sunset — as well as the Metamorphoses, in which it is said that Somnus (Hypnos) lives in a cave in the Underworld with his thousand dream-children.
The level would be centered around surrealistic imagery with nightmare-themed enemies. In the second game, it could also tie with Hypnos' slumber and how to wake him up. With Hypnos gone, the realm of dreams has fallen into ruin as nightmares and sleep disturbances cause chaos, which Melinoë will have to fight through.
Morpheus (Title: King of Dreams): One of Hypnos' thousand sons in the Metamorphoses and the best at fashioning human shapes, he will offer dream and sand-related gifts. He is a very influent figure in Western pop culture and would fit like a glove with Hades 2's gothic themes.
Phobetor / Icelos (Title: Dream of Beasts): One of the named somnia (dreams) in Metamorphoses, he assumes the shape of animals. As Ovid describes him as a bird or serpent, he would take the shape of a bird-snake nightmare.
Phantasos (Title: Dream of Objects): The last named dream in Ovid, he is the spirit of inanimate objects in dreams. His fight would invole randomly shapeshifting into various surrealistic objects.
Epiales (Title: Nightmare Incarnate, or Black Dream): The spirit who personified nightmares in Greek mythology. Although he is neutral to the conflict between the Olympians and the Titans, he took a liking to Hypnos' absence and will not let Melinoë restore the Land of Dreams to order by rescuing the House of Hades. He is very obscure, even more so than the previous three named dreams, but Supergiant has adapted more obscure stuff.
