Klin

- Where are you going - We have decided to go to Klin - To the museum of Chaikovskiy?

The month of November is the time, when it is not yet winter with its below-zero temperature and loads of snow and neither it is not autumn with bright leaves and still sunny weather. Still it is the last resort of travelling in fine conditions.

Klin is an old town located in Moscow Area. It was first mentioned in the 14th century and it was developing since then to receive city-status in 18th century. Now it is a comparatively small town, one that you can see in a day. 

To an extent it looks like a forgotten playground. While the roads and most buildings are well maintained there are some places that do not draw attention of the government any more. Probably there was a festival not a long time ago, that triggered infrastructure improvement. That is how some really nice objects appeared. Nonetheless, they are abandoned now. My personal favorite is a corner in the old country-estate Demyanovo where several pianos are placed, likewise some other objects. One of the pianos is real, but the keys are glued, so it is impossible to play it conventionally. However, you can play it using “inside keys”, there is a special romance in it.

“Klin sounds” - the official slogan of the town.This tagline is combined with light, pastel colours. In my view, it is contradiction. With pastel colours Klin seems to sound lightly, not having enough attention. My overall expirience bears resemblance to this contradiction. Klin is probably unique as each city is, but it is too hard to find out, whether it is true in the case.

Our last stop was the famous museum of the famous composer. It was written that it closes at 18. We were lucky enough to come there at 17.05 and not be let in.
