Have you ever went about your day and somebody stops you and comments on your graphic t-shirt? Or someone just looks at your shirt and offers their commentary. BTW, my t-shirt garnered me a date, but I digress. T-shirts are part of the fabric of our society, you can either roll with it or get rolled over. Your t-shirt game may be plain and ho-hum, but some of us like a good graphic t-shirt, especially one that expresses our ambition, political and social beliefs, value, and complaints. T-shirts are similar to bumper stickers, it signals beliefs and value without a conversation.
T-shirts are relative inexpensive, we wear them at our most casual and relaxed moments. With the exception of the most expensive t-shirt, with a price tag of $400k, Superlative Luxury t-shirt, with added diamonds, hasn’t had a buyer yet-even during the age of steroidal consumerism.
I have theory for this, t-shirts were not invented to signal wealth and luxury, it was for everyday cool people, who just don’t feel like being formal for the day-for whatever reason. That doesn’t mean you can’t pull off a sleek trendy after 5pm look with a t-shirt.
