I'd like to ask about Godzilla Rekindled more specifically about your Mothra !! I love her desing but I'm not quite sure about her abilities and origins so I'd be delighted to hear you talk about her
Hiii Kia! Iād love to talk about Mothra! Sheās very important to the beginning of the story and Iāve been trying to plot out more of her journey in the later parts of it.
Mothra or Mothra Ama is the current Divine Moth presiding over Earth, coming from a long line of predecessors she actually doesnāt know much about, but is determined to uphold their legacy and fulfill her duty as a guardian of the planet. Iād describe her as pretty young and sheltered all things considered. Since sheās began her reign during a time of relative peace, she struggles to mediate Gojiraās anger after heās mutated and his family is killed. Tensions run pretty high between them as Mothra is trying to keep Gojira from rampaging again not just for the safety of anything caught in his way, but for his only living pup, Gojirin, as well.
Abilities arenāt something I think about as much compared to themes and characterbuilding, but Mothra is definitely not a pushover. Sheās quite physically strong for her size and spits tensile, durable silk. In her first encounter with a rampaging Gojira, after subduing him she was able to magically seal him beneath the ocean in a sort of half-asleep state and is able to converse with him and other kaiju via telepathy, where her own psychic power lets the otherās thoughts form into meaningful sentences. Thereās also potential for some wilder magical offensive abilities since I have some in my old notes for her, but I need to think about those a bit more.
