HELL WEEK 2016
This year I’ve decided to go full-on Hell Week, following both the #BertrandWay and #RistoWay. Everyone probably knows what a hell week means, more details will be revealed as the prep week (week 40) unfolds.
In total, it’ll be a 43-hour workweek, 30 hours of training, and zero mercy for bad habits. Friends and family won’t be able to reach me until late in the evening—time reserved for social media check-ins. Any photos or videos will be uploaded here: www.ristocycling.tumblr.com and @risto84me on Instagram.
My goal is to make last year’s Everesting feel like a walk in the park in comparison. Do I think it’s possible? Doesn’t matter what I think. Life is about acting, moving, doing—just go for it—and evaluation comes later when results are in. I’m heading into what will likely be the hardest week of my life so far, the darkest chapter, the steepest valley, a true descent into hell. It won’t be just physically demanding—it will be mentally brutal. I’ll fight the urge to give up after the first hour on Monday when Vassfjellet is climbed at 5:30 a.m.—no matter the weather. But I will endure the whole week, whatever it takes!
