AKA morrel. Another WA endemic mallee eucalypt, admired for its silver foliage and ludicrously enormous flowers.
In the wild it grows in sand in the Kwongan heathland northwards from Perth.

The flowers of the endangered mottlecah（EUCALYPTUS MACROCARPA）open daily as the sun rises. Eucalyptus macrocarpa is a very distinctive species having a mallee-type habit of growth and spectacular red flowers.
The foliage of E.macrocarpa attracts almost as much attention as the flowers. The leaves are ovate-elliptical in shape, sessile, up to 12 cm long by 8 cm wide and silvery-grey in colour. They are like dragons with strange red heads and silver horns on the ground, facing towards the sun.
Then another sign appeared in heaven: an enormous red dragon with seven heads and ten horns and seven crowns on its heads.
